Lovely meditative book
It is as described, but it is true it’s a very short read and was not meant to be read through. It is to read a page at a time, maybe two, and really feel the words and concept to what it’s trying to convey. It is meant to be meditative. If you like Eckhart’s teachings it’s more of a reminder of the same old message in different forms and words. It’s so easy to get lost in the daily to do’s and worries, and this book helps to bring u a little more to the present moment. It can only take 1 minute a day. Put it somewhere you can see and can open it and just read one page. Breath. There are no new concepts in this book, it is more of a decorative book, big font, a few sentences on each page. It feels thin in its words, and therefore seems as not good value for money, but it says EVERYTHING, and what value it has is up to you to decide. I’m impressed for someone to have the same message on each page but in a different form. You know what to expect, so just by looking at it you get a reminder of the message.

loved this book
Read Tolles other best sellers and loved this book. It's somewhat light so may be better appreciated if you're already familiar with his work.

A helpful revisit of the main signposts in The Power of Now
The Power of Now is my all time favorite book. It has changed my life in ways no other book has. I first read it one and a half years ago and have read it diligently since then. I listen to the CD's in my car almost daily. Last year I had the priveledge of going on a 5 day retreat with Eckhart at the Omega Institute in New York. It was a powerful, life changing experience and I can say he is the real thing. He is an embodiment of what we're all looking for. So I looked forward to Stillness Speaks since I read about it months ago. It is a good book. However, like Practicing the Power of Now, Stillness Speaks supports and strengthens the ideas in The Power of Now, but doesn't continue on from them. In other words, there's nothing new in Stillness Speaks. Which is fine and as it should be. The Power of Now said it all. Stillness Speaks seems designed as a way to go deeper into the concepts of The Power of Now. It's the main signposts in The Power of Now communicated and packaged in a different way. Therefore, it's not the new, groundbreaking book The Power of Now is. The content of Stillness Speaks will be familiar to everyone who has read The Power of Now. For this reason I give it four stars instead of five. I know I'll be reading, contemplating and meditating on Stillness Speaks for years to come. Stillness Speaks is not a conventional book, but a series of 200 short entries that are meant to be read one by one and meditated on. I would say one would have to fully read The Power of Now in order to get full benefit from Stillness Speaks. As with Practicing The Power of Now, I would recommend Stillness Speaks to those who have read The Power of Now and want to go deeper into it.

Must Have!
Eckhart Tolle is brilliant. I've read all of his books and this is my favorite (after The Power of Now). You can pick it up, put it down, open it to any page and read a little or a lot. Eckhart is always bringing you out of the quagmire of your incessant mind and into the peaceful present moment. Highly recommend this book. I keep it on my desk all the time. I bought this one for my mother.

FIVE STARS FOR THE AUTHOR WHO IS THE NARRATOR USUALLY! THIS WAS AN ACCIDENT THAT I MUST HAVE MADE!
STILLNESS SPEAKS: STILLNESS AMONG THE WORLD! I got this from AUDIBLE, which I just used one of my credits. It's by narrated by a soft spoken BUDDHIST MONK who I have one other by him, and since I just got it last night, I have not yet, had a chance to listen to it. Since I haven't tried it I am sure it's worthy of its Five stars, but since I thought about it, and haven't been even able to hear it on my computer, to listen to the sample, I plan on exchanging it for something else that I took the trouble to read reviews, there are a couple of other choices that I would rather listen to so as soon as I can either tonight or tomorrow I'm returning it. I bought three Non Fiction Kindle books that I saw get put on my orders, but they are mysteriously gone. I would much rather listen to those than this, and since I never returned anything before I'm exchanging this for either a credit since I didn't even download it on my phone yet. That's what's great about an Audible membership, which if for any reason I don't like it, and they didn't get any returns from me in over 15 years of my membership with them, I'm pretty sure they will credit me, and if not then I will get to it sometime when I have a chance to listen to it, which won't be anytime soon. Listening to Non Fiction Titles on my phone that connects to my Bluetooth speaker in my car while I'm doing errands makes the driving time go by too quickly. This was going to be something that I listen to on my phone, but I forgot I bought it by accident, or I would have returned it this morning. I am hoping that I don't have any issues when I exchange it, but I'm very sorry I can only recommend the author, who I hope is the narrator, in case I end up deciding to keep it, I honestly have to say that anything by this author is Five star worthy, and if I end up listening to it in a long time from now, I'll come back, and update this review. I usually buy the Kindle copy also, which I didn't but if you're interested it was only $8.99 last night. That's my honest experience with this AUDIBLE purchase. I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful, but thank you so very much for reading my review. It was an accident that this was purchased, since I was looking at the Kindle copy, and must have hit the Audible credit, by mistake.

It's a book I keep and revisit
I can't recall if I've already reviewed this book (hazards of the ditzy mind), but here it is...either for the first time or the 10th. I say if a book is good once, it's good a bunch of times! Stillness Speaks, by Eckhart Tolle, written in 2003, is a little, 127 page book that I read and re-read frequently. Simple and yet profound in content, it reminds me over and over and over again that the answers I seek, are found in stillness. Eckhart Tolle has an elegant way of stating simply, that which feels the most complicated. In his many books, he conveys the message of the importance of being in the moment, and of gaining perspective from the egoic chatter the mind so often convinces us is the true and important reality. I very often use a highlighter when I read; a habit I developed in college to help me find points I want to remember later. I had to laugh because I think I've highlighted every word in this book. That's how deeply it speaks to my spirit every time I read it. The book contains 10 short chapters and I will leave you with a favorite quote from each: "True Intelligence operates silently. Stillness is where creativity and solutions to problems are found." "Every thought pretends that it matters so much." "Your unhappiness ultimately arises not from the circumstance of your life, but from the conditions of your mind." "Is life ever 'not this moment'?" "Reincarnation doesn't help you if in your next incarnation you still don't know who you are." "Sometimes surrender means giving up trying to understand and becoming comfortable with not knowing." "We have forgotten what rocks, plants, and animals still know. We have forgotten how to be - to be still, to be ourselves, to be where life is: Here and Now." "Love does not want or fear anything." "To every accident and disaster there is a potentially redemptive dimension that we are usually unaware of." "Suffering is necessary until you realize it is unnecessary.

One of my favourite books
together with "The new earth" and "the power of now". Brilliant! It's not a book to read once but a precious life companion.

An effortless path away from the neurotic, always connected era we Live in. Surprising Enlightening.
Eckhart Tolle is a recent serendipitous discovery of mine at a time of eclectic distress. I found his books a revelation of simplicity, modesty and yet immensely important for the spiritually minded. There is a sense that there is something profound and real just beneath the surface and Eckhart gently points at the fact that we are all perfectly whole and deserving human beings. I have now quickly read many of his book but don’t be complacent because the books appear deceptively simple. They are a gem in disguise and one cannot but hope and wonder such a vision expanding universally.

Fantastic book
I loved reading this book. It really makes you rest in stillness as you read it. It is the type of book you would reread again and contemplate on what Eckhart is saying. Would highly recommend.

El formato utilizado por el autor es el ideal para el objetivo que busca. Una gran ayuda para todos aquellos que buscamos salir de la prisión mental en que la Sociedad nos ha mantenido.
