No more butt discomfort or lower back pain...very comfortable and easilsy adjustable...best bang for the buck!!! By the way this is the best throne for a drummer...the saddle seats do not provide for as much range of movement for your legs

I have the R&S nitro and just purchased this tank and I can say it is worth every penny. I do not know what the other reviewer is talking about and why he gave 3 starts but here's my breakdown. Saying this thing is fragile is quite an overstatement, if it broke during transport something heavy probably fell on it. Also you can unscrew the handle before transport as it sticks out a bit. (more on that later). When transporting I would make sure to remove the seat from the base, fold it up and remove the lever. Swivels? Yeah it swivels but that should be common knowledge as do all hydraulic throne/chairs do. I think it would be a lot more surprising to people if it didn't swivel. The last complaint about bumping the adjustment lever while playing is absolutely unwarranted and flat out ridiculous. IF you happen to bump the lever you can either unscrew/remove it which makes it shorter and unreachable while playing. And you can also install the seat portion of the throne so the lever is out of the way. The lever is fixed to the tripod and the seat can be installed and tightened in any position where the lever is out of the way. Can even have the lever directly behind you if you like. Compared to my nitro I would say this seat is pound for pound as good if not better than the nitro. Definitely seems beefier which some might not like but I like the more solid feel. The base is rock solid. No creaking or rocking what so ever. Both the nitro and the 9608 are comfy and get the job done. The one thing I like about the nitro is it can go about an inch lower than the 9608 but I believe its due to the HUGE rubber feet that comes with the 9608. If anyone is on the fence between the two thrones I would save the money and get the 9608 all day

I am a keyboard player. I've used drum thrones forever. I needed to replace my Pearl throne, as it finally wore out. I tried probably a dozen or so thrones, with & without back rests, from moderately priced to top of the line. We typically play 90 min sets & I have to sit more now because of back issues. I could not find one that would work for me - not even a new Pearl. I settled on this Gibralter "softy" drum throne. I read many reviews about it & know Gibralter has a very good reputation. This drum throne is made very well & has a 5in thick cushion seat! But unfortunately, after about 20 mins, my bum, back & legs start hurting/burning. For players that don't have back issues, or don't have to sit & play for extended periods, it def would be worth a try. And unfortunately for me, it's just past the return time window, so I'll have to try & sell it & continue the hunt for a seat that provides long term comfort.

This throne is very comfortable to sit on for long periods of time. I had a bicycle seat throne for years and loved it, but wanted to try a round seat again. I find it easier to sit squarely and balanced on this round throne compared to the bicycle style seat. The construction is very sturdy and relatively heavy, as you can expect from most Gibraltar hardware. If you are looking for a lightweight throne this may be too heavy for you. Also, I am a large man at 6’3” and 270lbs so there was some worry about its ability to support me properly. I have been using it for a couple months and have had no issues with the hardware faltering or seat part bending or breaking around where it attaches to the bracket. Overall very well designed and comfortable product, I would highly recommend this to someone looking for a new throne with extra cushion, who doesn’t want to pay a premium for thrones from brands like Tama, Roc n’ Soc, DW, etc., for the same high quality this product offers.

Not as soft as the name would have you think, and nowhere near as soft as the Pork Pie drum thrones it's made to compete against, so initially I was very disappointed and was going to send this back. But I decided to try it more and ended up quite liking it. It's a FIRM soft, like a dense memory foam mattress, so it's soft but still offers a lot of support. It's really quite different from the Pork Pie thrones so if that's what you want, that's what you should get, but if you want something similar but a bit firmer and significantly less expensive, this might be for you.
