Excellent MP3 Player. Great value for the price. Recommended.
Owned the first iteration of Timmkoo MP3 players and was very impressed. Very simple user interface, excellent quality, easy to see controls. Eventually, I manage to drop it and kill it, so I ordered the Q3. Similar interface to the original model, but other than the Home screen, text is smaller and white on black background, thus a little harder to see. It does have a graphic equalizer, which is pretty good. I like to just copy music from the PC to a folder on an MP3 player and be able to locate the folder easily and play the content. The Q3 is a bit more involved than the original Timmkoo. Copying music is fairly simple: connect to a PC vis USB cable included. Open the device on the PC and navigate to the Music folder and copy music from the PC to that folder. Note that when disconnecting this model from the PC does NOT require 'Ejecting' it, which is an improvement over the original player. Playback is a little more involved. Select the Music folder on the upper left corner of the home screen. That momentarily displays a black 'splash' screen with the word 'Hiky' in bright yellow text. The next screen has icons on a black screen with small gray or white text. Locate the white musical note center top and click 'Internal Storage' just below it, in gray font. Locate the Music folder and click it. All music folders copied to the player will be displayed. Select one and click the first song listed to begin playing the content. A nice feature is from this open music folder, you can simply swipe 'left to right' to return to display the folders in the Music folder to select another to play. All in all, excellent build quality - has a solid, hefty feel. Very good battery playback time between charges. Very impressed with this product. Paired with Soundcore A2NC ear buds makes for a simply awesome MP3 experience!

A nice modern time MP3 player.
This is definitely a good MP3 player for my car or work outs. I normally like to keep this ins my car so I do not have to plug my phone in all the time. The reason being is that I don't want my phone to be drained or taxed playing music. This product right out of the box is very well packaged. It provides you with the type C USB cable, headphones, and a clear case for the MP3 player. The headphones feel a bit cheap so I do recommend purchasing a better pair. It is Bluetooth capable so you can use Bluetooth headphones if you wish. The first thing I have to say about it is that the front facing glass is beautiful. It is not something that you can easily scratch and provides a nice clear video. The user interface is pretty simple and easy to use. The interface has several different functions from video to reading ebooks. For ebooks it seems to be okay with reading just PDF books which is really nice. The only issue is that I do not want to read on such a small screen. It does have a pretty good radio on it. I did not have too many static issues. It is a nice thing to have when I need to go to those drive in movie theaters. I do not have to use my car radio and risk running my battery out. The battery life varies depending on what you use it for. From what I can tell it can last on average 10 to 12 hours on headphones and 4-5 hours on speakers with movie running. The charge time varies as well and charges via type c usb cable. The speakers are pretty good and could be used as a standalone if you wished. The arm band that comes with it is definitely not a one size fit all. I think it works well for the average person but if you are bulked out on the arms you may have issues with fitting. I think 8 gb is enough but it does have a micro SD card slot if you wish for more music and video. It can be expanded to 128 gb. I have not tried my bigger SD cards but 128 gb works fine to me. Although it can be a bit laggy scrolling through all the songs trying to read music from hte SD card. The video quality can run at 1080p. It does not have any games on it unfortunately. Honestly it is a great thing to have if you are trying to keep your kids busy as well. You can load this device with cartoons and such and just play from this device rather than your phone. The clear case is nice and protective from scratches but it is easy to take sun damage. I would recommend putting the case on as the back is glossy and prone to scratches. Overall, this Mp3 player does the job for what I want. It plays music, videos, and can even read ebooks. It has a pretty good battery life and takes the strain off my phone.

Great customer service, a few software issues remain for now
=== Review Update Jun 30 2020 = = = = I am happy to report that the excellent customer service from this vendor resolved some of the issues I had with the first sample I received. I was sent a replacement unit that did not have any of the touch screen issues noted in my earlier review. It also worked OK in regard to connecting and reconnecting with most Bluetooth devices I tested (details provided below). The player doesn't automatically reconnect, but it will reconnect using a previous "pair" by simply selecting the connection in the BT menu. The replacement player still has a few software glitches that are reportedly being corrected with a pending firmware update. I will update my review after testing the new firmware. I tested several BT receiver devices and had success with all of them except for a TaoTronics TT-BR05 that is described as having BT version 4.2 The player will connect and transmit music but has very brief audio dropouts every few minutes. I did not have any other BT 4.2 devices to test, so I can't determine if the problem was unique to the connection between the Timmkoo player the TaoTronics TT-BR05 receiver. However, that same receiver worked fine with several other players that I tested. I was unable to pair the Timmkoo player with a Pioneer DEH-6400BT car stereo (installed on a boat). However, the supplier explained that the Timmkoo was not designed to pair with car stereos. So far I have had success using the Timmkoo player with these devices: TaoTronics TT-BA07 receiver (BT 5.0) Amazon Echo Tap (BT unknown) Wicked Raider Earbuds (BT 4.1) Bose QC35ii Earphones (BT 4.0) I can report that I am satisfied with the Timmkoo player and with the customer service I received. I can recommend the device as a low cost MP3 player that will likely pair with any late-model BT receiver. I will update this review when the new firmware is provided. === Original Review from May 2020 = = = The small size and seemingly solid construction are positive aspects. But the unreliable Bluetooth performance and flaky software render this device just short of unusable. I loaded the internal memory and a 32Gb SD card with many folders of MP3 music in hopes of using this unit as a music streamer to replace a failed (and ancient) iPhone. This Timmkoo player has a simple user interface that promised ease of use as an mp3 streamer. But the interface is sluggish in response to finger taps and often lags behind a few steps. So multiple taps (as if the first tap didn’t work) can trigger multiple responses that take you where you don’t want to go. So I find myself often hitting the home button and then going more slowly than I would like to work my way through the alphabetic listing of artists and albums. Because the interface is so slow I divided my artists into several top level folders separate by alpha letters; A-E, F-J, etc. This scheme eliminates a lot of finger swipes that are otherwise required to get from A to Z in a long list of artist folders. Once an album folder is accessed the player will stream the songs in alpha order. That’s what I want, so that part works ok. I number my tracks starting with 01 so the albums play songs in the correct order. But...and here’s a bummer...the software seems to stick on the most recent folder. When I move to a different folder (album) and start the first song it doesn’t play; instead, the first song of the prior folder plays, followed by all the songs in the prior folder. Very annoying. I haven’t found a consistent easy way to resolve this. So for now I return to the home screen and start over. It’s time consuming, but it seems to work every time. The Bluetooth connections are also flaky. The unit will connect ok but has brief (I.e. 20 ms) interruptions every five minutes or so. And, when it powers down, it won’t reconnect with a prior device unless the “forget this device” routine is performed. So I have to re-pair every time. So I am making do with the device for now. Would I buy another one? No.

This thing is a giant pile of garbage.
There is absolutely nothing about this product that is even remotely good or useful even if you already had the lowest expectations. Just to put it into perspective, an iPod Touch 1st Generation that has been dropped on the floor 50+ times, been run over by a truck carrying 5000 pounds of wood, and been hit with a hammer functions better than this piece of junk. The speaker audio sounds is about as good as a 1st generation walkie talkie with interference. If I had to choose between going deaf or having to listen to things through this speaker, I would choose to go deaf. The battery life of the product is straight up a lie. The Amazon description says that you can "enjoy 30 hours uninterrupted music" which, not only is completely false, but is also grammatically incorrect which should have been a red flag to me before buying the product in the first place. The battery life doesn't even last 15 hours while it is in its "power off" state. The storage although not technically false advertising, is realistically intangible. While you can store up to 8 GB's worth of files, putting more than a few GB's worth of files into it causes the processor to have a total meltdown and the entire product stops functioning. I will get more into depth about this later. Now let's have a look at the functionality of the item. The FM radio function, which is already questionable as to why it would be used, simply doesn't connect to any of the very few stations it supposedly can connect to. The recording function crashed whenever I tried to load it. The E-book function I could not test because file transferring is absolutely abysmal on this item. The stopwatch function has so much input delay that it is astonishing. The calculator is a Four Function calculator which means it can only do basic arithmetic(the math you learn roughly between the ages of 5-7) and even then it doesn't seem to do the math correctly. I didn't even bother with the calendar or photos function because I got fed up trying to get the machine to turn on. The eDictionary function is unfinished and has no definitions for words or ways to obtain the definition of words meaning it is useless. The files function is so bad that I'm giving it its own paragraph. Not only does it serve no purpose in this kind of device, but it also fails drastically at any purpose it could potentially have. It has a similar interface as your average computer file tool which is fine. However, there is no function to look for a specific file so you have to dig through everything one by one to try and find what you are looking for. After you finally find your file, what is it that you want to do with it exactly? Want to move it to another folder? Nah that function doesn't work. What about deleting files? Don't make me laugh that doesn't work either. Well can I at least view the file? Heck no, do you think this is a useful product? Well if I can't do any of those, what can I do with it? NOTHING. The files function is entirely worthless just like everything else. Finally we are on the final function, the settings function. This is the function that actually works however there is also a lack of things you can do with it in the first place. The functions you have access to are changing the Date and Time, adjusting the screen brightness, turning the automatic sleep/power-off function on or off, formatting the storage, and factory reset. The functions work as intended(I think) but the machine also likes to revert your changes on its own after some time so whatever you changed disappears. Now that all that bad stuff is over with, let's get onto WORSE things. On top of all the random useless functions that this thing has to offer, the machine simply can not process all of the junk it has installed. The processor has to work absurdly hard just to breathe. The processor is an absolute joke of a piece of hardware that makes the hardware of machines from 50 years ago look good. Without the addition of your own files, the product runs at the speed of an old laptop from 2010. Its not annoyingly slow but its slower than I prefer(roughly half a second to a full second of delay). Once you add your own files, that's where everything completely falls apart. I only added in about 3 GB's worth of data, which isn't even half of the capacity the product is given and the whole thing slowed down dramatically. It went from a 0.5-1.0 second delay to a 12 second delay. Even the oldest of computer processors run faster than this even when they are at 100% capacity. Trust me, it still gets worse. So I also bought a 128 GB micro SD card (they call it a TF card in the description which is just the old name of micro SD) to add additional storage because I have 50+ GB's worth of music that I wanted to store. Now I will give a quick rundown of how micro SD cards are typically used because this is connected to the problems that arise with this product. Typically when you put a micro SD card into a device, you are able to put files into the micro SD card using the product. This product however, requires you to put files into the micro SD card BEFORE you put it into the device and there is also a lack of instruction for this to begin with. So I spent a good 4 hours trying to figure out what I was doing wrong until another customer told me what he did. Remember in the last paragraph how I mentioned that the product ran absurdly slow with 3 GB's stored? Well I had 11 GB's when I tested my micro SD card and not only did the product stop working entirely(I wasn't surprised at all when this happened), it also corrupted my micro SD card and I had to repair it. This product is so awful that I wouldn't recommend it to any person. I would rate this 0 stars if I could because it isn't deserving of even a single star. If I was a Youtuber who was struggling financially and they offered me a single video sponsorship for 30 seconds, I wouldn't even take it unless it was 6 figures or higher. That's how awful this product is.

Good player, but don't expect it to keep going for years and years.
This was a pretty good player, with no major problems, for almost exactly three years. Then, the battery died, and replacements are only available from probably-sketchy websites that aren't in English. I'm still on the fence about whether to buy another or look elsewhere. There was only one real issue I ever had when the player was working, that I had to have it reload from the memory card whenever I added more music to the card. This involved looking through a lot of menus; I should have written out some instructions and taped them to the back of the thing. Everything else - size, capacity, sound quality, etc. - was great. And I'm sure it would still work if I got a new battery.

Good Quality. Nice Look
This little MP3 is super Light. High Quality Material and well done. The blue tooth functions makes it Great and super versatile. Take your music to your car, to the backyard, the office. it is limitless. I have Three Blue tooth Speakers on the house plus the one on the car. Super easy to connect and take it everywhere. It comes with a user guide, but I really did not need it. Very simple to use. I downloaded all my music from my computer, kept the same files. Super easy to create new limitless playlists. The only thing missing for this amazing MP3 is to have Wi-Fi Connectivity and play music from streaming services like Sirius XM or Amazon Music or Spotify.. Obviously a more advanced (higher cost) MP3 would have it. I knew this one did not have it before I purchased it. The description on Amazon is very detailed and clear about it. I am happy with he purchase. Dimensions are 2 & 1/2" on the base and 4 & 1/8 " height. Thickness is a little bit less than 1/2 ". Touch screen works incredibly well. like any smart phone would. you can charge it with a provided C entry cable with USB. Same cable to charge it, same cable to connect it to your computer to download your MP3 or MP4 files. It comes with a 64 GB micro SD Card. If you require a higher capacity, you would have to purchase a higher storage capacity card. This one is good enough for me. But I only use it for MP3 music files. I do not have video files, those are more capacity demanding. I strongly suggest you connect it via Blue tooth to any speaker. This little MP3 comes with an integrated speaker. But it is so small and weak that for Music, it does not provide a good sound. Specially bass. so use the earphones or connect it to any Blue tooth speaker or your car.

Quality mp3 and mp4 player at the right price point (with updates)
Pros: + Small with a big screen and high quality video playback + Decent sound when you use good headphones + Easy to see display + Other features like book reader, FM radio are nice bonuses for a non-internet-connected device + 8GB is good internal storage with 128GB expandable micro SD so you can have lots of music and movies, even with FLAC files Cons: - The software is laggy (update: 3/4/2020, estron sent me a replacement free of charge and fixed this) - Touch response is subpar with the screen protector on (update: 3/4/2020, estron sent me a replacement free of charge and the touch response is improved) - Screen is plastic, not glass. I could be wrong on this, but it doesn't "feel" like glass, so I used the screen protector since I put the thing in my pocket. This shouldn't be a dealbreaker, but it's worth noting - Playback software has some glitches. If you are in a folder that is playing music but switch to another folder and try to play a song, it plays the same track number from the previous directory. You have to start and stop playback several times until it figures out that you're in a new directory and will play music from there (update: 3/4/2020, estron sent me a replacement free of charge and there are fewer glitches. It's not perfect but they are working on a fix.) - Movie playback doesn't resume, it just starts new every time. This is kind of frustrating since the only way to skip ahead is with the slider and on such a small screen, you lose a lot of fine adjustment. On the other hand, it's an inexpensive movie viewer. Overall, I'm happy with the device. I got this thing because I need to use wired headphones instead of Bluetooth and because I retrofitted my iPhone with a magnetic charge port, I can't plug headphones into (the same) port. That and I hate Apple headphones. So as an mp3 player, the sound quality is good and that's my primary use for it. This would have yielded a 4 star rating. However, I want to point out that my initial review of the product was followed up on by estron, and they reached out to me to address my concerns and they sent me a replacement free of charge. That kind of customer service is impressive and thus the 5 stars.

Annoying software issues (reviewing for mp3 player)
I specifically got this for a full screen mp3 player, so that's all I'll be covering. The overall screen interface and the internal memory size is nice but that's about it. The device has software issues that make it slow and annoying to use. When you open the music section you have access to -> all your songs, recently played, favorites, and folders. With 400 songs on mine, all options but the folder one is useless to me. There are also only 3 slots for custom playlists that you can make, I'll get to those later. Since i used the folder option, when i added music to the device through my pc, i made my folders based on albums. Everything there worked completely fine. I've read that mac users have issues adding music to this thing so beware of that. Back on the player, scrolling through all my albums is very sluggish. Once you get into anything past the home screen of the device, the whole system just seems to struggle, along with touch screen's response. The biggest issue is if you say are currently playing something but want to switch to a different album, so you hit the back button back to your folders and select something new. The system doesn't realize you switched to a different folder. Say you pick song 3 from your new album. It will instead play the 3rd song from the old album your currently listening too. It does this all the time without fail. The only way to get around it that I've found is that before selecting your new folder and song, you have to first go back to the main home screen then navigate all the way back to the album you want to listen too. It gets old really fast. Back to the playlists, they seem to work fine. Adding songs to them works fine. The only thing I've noticed is that if the device turns off while your playing one with the shuffle feature (you pause the song and it turns off automatically with the powersave timer), once you turn it back on, shuffle no longer works. (I use this in my car while driving). It's deceptive because there's a bar at the bottom that lists your "now playing" song. It's still there after you turn back on the device. If you hit the play button on that bar it will only play that one song then stop. You'll have to go back into your playlist and start the shuffle play again from the beginning. So, i think I'll be pitching this thing and going back to using my old phone as a player.

Toller Player, toller Kundenservice!

Extremely good value, and does exactly what it advertises.
Very comprehensive MP3 and MP4 player, setup was a bit of an issue for me, as I was making the install on a W7 64k PC. Tork me around 15 mins of playing around and installing the required app. Had to reboot my PC and re-attach the player. But it was picked up and I was easily able to transfer music MP3 and Vid MP4s from the desktop PC, it does not seem to play AVI but just about all other formats, and the sound is very good for it seize. Blutooth worked to my Kanto speakers.
