50 lb Pail Red Hot Devil Lye Sodium Hydroxide, Import Material, High Grade Caustic Soda Beads

This is going to sound odd but I love this product not only for the great quality but for the packaging as well. I purchased a two pack and they were shrink wrapped together so there was no chance for any product to leak out. I use this in my cold process soap recipes and it is very reliable. It does dissolve fast which is convenient. This particular lye is the tiny beads and not the flakes or powder. You must be careful when you pour it because they bounce so pour them into a container with higher sides. Here are a few pictures of soaps I made using this lye and also a close up of the lye

I’ve used this almost exclusively for pretzel making and it has worked great. I even did a whole loaf of sourdough “pretzelized” and it was one of the best things I ever made.

With this product be sure to wear your safety gears (such as safety eye glasses, gloves, long sleeve shirt, and mask) when handling and/or using this product as it will irriate your skin upon direct contact.

It took a couple of tries because by sink was backed up. When the clog finally cleared it left a pleasant popping and sizzling sound, just the way I like it. One must be careful not to melt the PVC but it's so much more convenient than manually unclogging the pipe. I love it!

Works perfect every time for goat milk soap I love that you can buy it in bulk because I make a lot of soap never had any issues with it. I would just say don't store in the Attic or store it for a long period of time open because it did get a little moisture in the bottle and start turning liquidy but that was after like 6 months Definitely recommend!!!

I have been using it for soaping and it works fine. I dont like the lye lint in the water solution though.
