Best Guitar Case I've ever had has been Yamaha. **update HOW I REPAIRED THE GUITAR CASE
This is an incredibly nice case. The guitar fits quite snug. No jiggling around at all. I wanted something made of real wood. This is plywood. Very strong. Just a bit more than the others but well worth it. A classic guitar case that will protect the investment for a long time. If your instrument is twice or more the cost of the case. Buy one. Mine is easily $1600 and I didn't want to risk going for one of the other brands that would have been less expensive. The case did arrive damaged. But I'm working with Seller to see what can be done. Even scuffed up and a missing hinge. I'm keeping it. It traveled all the way around the world being moved from factory to a truck to a ship and then another truck and then stored and moved around since 2023. I understand things can happen. **Update: The seller agreed for a partial refund. I've included photos of the damage and then updated review to show some of the photos of my repairs. For everything I used just plain wood glue. Toothpicks and wood glue to fill the rivet holes. Cut to length screws after installing them and removing them to cut. Tape to hold the ripped cover to hold it tight till the wood glue set. Hot glue to repair the felt that I peeled back to cut the toothpick ends with a razor knife.

First-tier guitar case for Yamaha dreadnoughts
I'm a beginner, and ever since purchasing my FG-800 I have been tired of rolling up my guitar in an old blanket, with occasional heart drops when accidentally bumping it against things. The AG1-HC case gives me the peace of mind I have been wanting for that instrument. Make no mistake about it, this case is exactly that: a guitar case. It does not pretend or attempt to be anything else. Sturdily built with tight lockup and a solid feel in either position (open or closed). Standard black and polished/plated brass 3+1 clasp hardware with a distinct lack of branding, a feature that may or may not be advantageous to your particular needs. The interior is lined with black interior plush, as opposed to the red/purple 70s-esque variety of other cases, with a large accessory pocket capable of stocking many packs of strings along with pegwinders, piezo pickups, picks, capos and anything else you could possibly need to carry along with your instrument. The lock is the standard style for guitar cases - a simple skeleton-key lock more intended to ensure one clasp stays locked rather than genuine security of the case's contents. This configuration seems adequate for a bumpy ride in a tour bus or an unstable packing configuration, but not enough to survive airline baggage handlers well-trained in the art of luggage destruction. Guitar fitment (at least for the FG-800) is tight, enough so that I was worried that I may need to remove and stow my strap before closing the lid. This doesn't appear to be the case, as the body of the guitar has a certain degree of "float" to it. Overall, once the case is closed and locked-up there is no motion or play from the guitar within. Overall, I would recommend this case for anyone who is looking to protect their instrument and who prefers first-party solutions. The AG1-HC is a sturdy case with a quality build that fits the bill for protecting instruments worth much more than it.

Fantastic
Very satisfied with the quality of this case. Ordered the acoustic dreadnought case, and it fits my FG700S perfectly (zero movement; snug fit). The neck compartment is large enough where a pack of strings can comfortably sit flat (my Fender dreadnought case I need to keep the pack of strings vertical). Compartment lid feels more solid 4 gold clasp design, with feet on the bottom so the case can sit on the floor vertically or horizontally. Seams all around look perfect. Handle placement leaves the case feeling balanced in the hand with or without a guitar. My only other experience with owning an acoustic hard case has been with Fender’s, and overall I am happier with Yamaha’s case and would recommend it over Fender’s.

Excellent fit for FG guitars
For $113 you can't go wrong. Snug fit for a FG850 - perfect. Latches are decent with one on the hinge side of the case - pretty cool. Large storage compartment. Interior padding is adequate, especially with the snug fit. Interior on this one is blue; exterior is black. It is a bit lighter than expected but appears to be more sturdy than mediocracy. Hardware is gold in color. One latch locks with a cylinder key. I like it! No regrets. From experience, I believe you'd need to spend $150 and more to better this case.

Well made padded case with substantial protection
For a padded case, this was an excellent fit for a yamaha acoustic guitar FD01S, for which i could not find any info for a recommended case. The case is well made and offers substantial protection for a padded case.

Great bang for your buck
This is actually a very nice case. I’m not sure which model Yamaha guitar I have off the top of my head, but the case fits it perfectly. I’ve only ever had a gig bag so I’m way glad to have a sturdy case. My kids try to play with my guitar all the time and I’m always worried they’ll knock it over or damage it somehow but it feels really safe and sturdy in the case. Even if they knocked the case over I think it’d be safe. Happy with my purchase. Arrived with no damage to the box or the case and defiant a great value for the money.

Heavy Duty for a “soft” case.
I immediately noticed it came in a big guitar sized box, not wadded up the size of a shoebox. It’s well constructed, very stiff almost a hard case, sort of in between actually. Large storage pocket, and it’s very deep, any depth acoustic will fit with room to spare. I’m impressed, I spent extra because it’s for my favorite Yamaha guitar, but I got more than expected.

Great Value, Solid Guitar Case
I have a 1972 Gallagher G-70 that needed a new case. I didn't want to spring for a Calton, (I have one for my mandolin- superb but pricey), but I wanted a good sturdy case that would protect the guitar going to practice and gigs. The Gallagher is modeled on the Martin D-28-- pretty much identical with respect to dimensions - the "dreadnaught" size has become a standard, but case makers tended to fudge and over-size, I suppose to accommodate and many makes as possible. This can be a problem. I initially ordered a Gator ABS case. A sturdy enough case in the same price range and light in weight. This didn't work at all as the fit was very loose. The guitar could literally move inside the case in all directions - a recipe for disaster. I returned it the same day as received. (Thanks Amazon). I then ordered the Yamaha case and the guitar fit snugly and securely. Their is more padding and it's softer that the Gator's rigid foam. I am well-pleased with this case and it is a great value for the money. It's not quite as high-end as the Superior cases that my Collings guitar came with, but the Yamaha is also half the price of those and excellent fit and finish. One note - there is NO Yamaha branding anywhere on the case, which is a bonus. I actually love Yamaha guitars and some of the early red label versions are amazing. But I also like having clean and simple lines with no logos. Highly recommended. Buy without fear.
