MULTI-WAY
I installed my first few switches, the standard single poles, shortly after we moved in a year ago with intent on testing them out for a bit before investing in the entire home as we have a 5700sq ft home with 67 switches in total Only installed 4 at the time and then gave it 6 months.. and wIthout one issue, all switches worked flawlessly, the app (SmartLife) is easy to use, not the greatest looking app but does Integrate easily with Alexa, setup of switches is super easy as well. So I went ahead and went for it and purchased the remaining switches to include the 3ways, and dimmers and single poles. I did have two multi-way circuits for our foyer and upstairs hallway for which I did scratch my head for a bit, for those of you who don’t know what a multi-way circuit is, simply, it’s a circuit that is controlled by more than 2 switches, so 3 and up. With a multi-way you need a 4 way switch, and the head scratching came from the fact treatLife doesn’t offer a multi-way WiFi switch, I tried reaching out through tech support but they simply gave me the link to a ‘tuya’ website which only offers more smart home products, that’s nice but they too did not have a multi-way switch, so I just did what I thought may work and it did work just fine.... All you have to do is buy a standard 4 way decorator (decorator so it matches the style) switch and wire that in along with the two or more 3way treatlife switches and indeed it does work flawlessly, hopefully this saves those of you in the same situation a little time wondering, researching and coming up short like I did. Another very important thing to remember and it is stated, you must have a neutral wire for these to operate. So those of you with older homes will definitely want to check prior to purchasing. My home was built in 1990, and I did run across more than 7 switches that do not even have the neutral In the box, so what I did was actually rob and fish a neutral off of a nearby circuit that had one to feed the new switch, if that’s impossible or far too difficult for you to do then they do offer receivers that have wireless remotes that can be installed in lieu of that ( this requires your actual light fixture to have power constantly and is open and closed by the receiver installed into the box of the light fixture ) then controlled by a wireless remote you can attach to wall, so there are other methods to overcome old or bad wiring.. Lastly, if you need a 3way circuit that’s on a dimmer, treatlife does not sell that as well, so enter TESSAN 3way dimmer on the search bar and these will work on the same app All in all I absolutely love the products 100% I did out of all of the switches have one single pole that was bad out of the box, I attempted to install on 3 separate circuits and it would not light up or even function as a standard switch at all, but that’s not even enough to make me upset, no biggie. Through all of my research this brand is by far the the cheapest and best value and works great! Not one of them have ever failed me via the app, they always hold a connection unlike many other devices that temporarily lose and reconnect, These do not, not one instance. So i highly recommend these and will purchase again and as well more products they offer that operate through this same app. Good luck to all If anyone has any other questions, I’d be happy to help!

Easy Install, Integrates with Homebridge
This review focuses on 1) integration with Apple's HomeKit through Homebridge, and 2) ease of physical installation of the switches. 1) Homebridge-HomeKit integration: I previously purchased two wemo switches, before their integration with Apple's HomeKit. With these switches, I learned of Homebridge and learned how to connect most non-HomeKit compatible devices to Apple's Home app. I like to use Siri to say "Goodnight" and have lights turn off, my garage doors close (MyQ) and my alarm to turn on (Envisilink). I wanted to expand my lighting control, but was turned off by Wemo's price tag. I stumbled across TreatLife after a general search for wifi switches. Although their price is good (about half a demo switch) I did not buy them right away. I teach the Homebridge forums (NPM and Github) to see what scripts were written for their integration. Treatlife is a cloud based system using Tuya, similar to MyQ for garage doors. For security purposes, I was looking to see if there was a script that grabbed the wifi broadcast of the switch locally, and avoided using the Smart Life app (one app that works with these switches, there are others - Jinvoo, Ucomen, etc.). To do this approach, you need to find the switch ID and Local_Key to put into your Homebridge config. file. In previous versions of all these app, the ID and Local_Key were easily obtainable. I was going to use homebridge-tuya-lan -npm. Recently, all the apps were updated. I don't fully understand the update, but it appears they now encrypt the communication of the device and hid the Local_key. That is good as I understand that this increases the security of the device. The bad is that I couldn't use homebridge-tuya-lan -npm. There were various methods to get the Local_Key, but were beyond my computer skills. So, I ended up using homebridge-tuya-web 2.0. This package gathers the status of the lights through the Smart Life app's cloud based system. The config file is easy to write, and I didn't have any issues with the lights appears in HomeKit. I see no delay in the light response from the commands on the phone. It passes the wife factor which means we are all happy. I attached a screen shot of the HomeKit on my iPhone and you cannot tell the difference between the demo switches and the Treatlife Switches. 2) Physical installation The instructions that come with the lights are very well laid out and clear. The labels on the back of the lights switches are also very helpful. I installed a dimmer switch, a single-pole switch, and 2 there-way switches! I have 6 more there-way switches to install. The three-ways are by far the most tricky, but only because your house wiring isn't as perfect as all the videos shown on tube. I found a video that tell me how to identify the line wire and the load wire between two switches. Using the labels that come with the light switch (nice touch) I was able to resolve a switch that only had red wires going to it!!! Another nice feature of this is that the box behind the switch is smaller compared to the demo switches. There will be many wires and wire nuts that you need to shove into the electrical box. I found the demo switch size made it very challenging to tuck everything in. Not so with the Treatlife switch. Their smaller form factor allowed for more wire nut connects to be shoved into the electrical box. Overall, these switches have been a very good purchase. They are economical, the app works well, and installation was made easier by the small form factor of the box behind the switch. I will be buying more and I will recommend these to others.

This product really works!
I was asked to review Smart Life Switches by Treatlife so here goes. Originally, I purchased a number of Echo Dots and Echo Shows as part of my security system. Pretty much, that worked out great for me. Then I got to thinking that since I have the Echo’s, why not try out some smart light switches and see if they could overcome some shortcomings in the house light switching configurations. For instance, my wife wanted to light up the downstairs of the house with great frequency, but it was always inconvenient because it required a trip downstairs accompanied by a return trip back upstairs just to flip a switch on or off. Similarly, there is a 3-way dimmer switch downstairs paired with a 3-way on-off switch upstairs that turns the lights on for the staircase. The problem is that the lower level dimmer is used often, controls upstairs light levels and is most inconveniently placed. It would be great to have the switches reversed, but that was impossible because the existing wiring shortcomings. Enter Treatlife’s switches and dimmers. In the first instance above, I replaced the lower level on-off light switch with a single pole Treatlife switch. Now I can control the downstairs lighting both manually or by using Alexa while downstairs, plus I can control that same lighting by using Alexa upstairs or from any place in the world. Problem fixed and my wife loves the solution. In the second instance above, I replaced the 3-way switch at the top of the staircase with a Treatlife dimmer switch and captured the hot wire which was only downstairs by jumpering the downstairs switch a certain way and using one of the travellers as the hot. The bottom line: Now I had a hot, neutral, ground, and load all in the upstairs box with the Treatlife dimmer switch. I can control the staircase lighting upstairs both manually or by using Alexa. From downstairs, I can control that same lighting by Alexa or from any place in the world, also. Again, problem fixed and my wife and I both love the solution. Because of the first two experiments, I now have nine switches and dimmers in strategic locations. They all do their jobs as I intended. Now for the integration part. Happily, it was all good. Using my Android phone, I was able to connect the switches and dimmers to the SmartLife app by Tuya with ease. (Do not confuse SmartLife app with SmartHome app by AT&T. For whatever the reason, a misunderstanding in this regard can confuse things easily. Even Alexa displays “SmartHome” when it’s actually SmartLife that’s required. The icons are similar just to add more confusion. Readers have been warned.). Then I was able to link SmartLife with my Alexa account. Once that happened, the fun really began. I could dream up any routine I wanted, complete with variations. For me, it was much more than just programming a single switch to do something. Instead, I have basic switch commands. Then I have multiple groupings of switches the turn on and off at voice or Smartphone commands. Then I have all lights turning on or off at voice or Smartphone command. If I choose, each switch can be programmed with schedules to turn on or off automatically and the dimmer levels can be altered similarly. This would be very useful when we are out-of-town. For what it is worth, I use Alexa Routines to the fullest to achieve the results I want. From my perspective, you cannot go wrong with the Treatlife switches and dimmers. They look good; they have status led’s; they work perfectly both manually and with SmartLife and Alexa apps. Not only that, their packaging is superb; the instructions clear and complete; and I had no reason to contact tech support. Funny how, for all my years, I never thought about having my hands full of groceries, tools, whatever, went I needed access to a light switch. Now I think about it often when I enter our utility or laundry rooms, or the garage or the front door, and just say “I’m Home” or “Utility” or “Downstairs” all prefaced by Alexa. It’s like magic and so convenient. The only issue I found is that I needed to use my existing plastic switch covers, not the ones shipped as part of the switch package, because of our home aesthetics. This, in certain instances, caused minor problems because some switch covers just did not fit perfectly. It turns out that some switch covers have a little built-in spacer at the screw hole that needs to be removed by whatever means you might have. For me it was a real nothing because I had the right tools to do it easily. Once done, the existing covers fit perfectly. This does not reflect on Treatlife in any way. Great product, great integration, great packaging, and great instructions. What more could you ask for?

Excellent Switches with a Limited Lifespan
I bought a bunch of these smart switches about 3 years ago to turn my whole house into a smart home. The installation and setup were super easy, and I’ve been loving them ever since. But all good things must come to an end. Like clockwork, they all started failing within a month of each other! I had to replace them all. Even though I bought the same models, I’m a bit worried that these smart switches will need to be replaced every few years. That doesn’t feel very sustainable to me. I’d much rather have a regular light switch that just works and doesn’t need to be replaced.

Simple, elegant and affordable IOT
My house is a fairly open floor plan, which means I have multiple switches controlling the same lights in most areas. One issue I am trying to avoid is having to walk around the entire floor every night to turn off all the lights that have been left on. (Also I would like to be able to set up routines and control my house even when I am away.) I have been looking for a while to find a solution to controlling my lights via IOT without breaking the bank. The TreatIife smart switch was the perfect solution. Setup has been easy, I have set up 4 switches so far (2 at a time when I have 45 minutes to spare). The directions for the 3-Way switches contain diagrams, so it was easy enough to follow the layout and remap the wires. The only things to be aware of are: 1 - You must use the neutral wire. The neutral wires are not attached to common switches, they were in a bundle of white wires in the back of the switch box. Until this is connected the switch will not work. 2 - Attaching the neutral and ground wires are easy. But different parts of my house were wired at different times, so existing wiring was not consistent between all boxes. Fret not however, simply rotating the 3 other wires between connections will get you set up correctly in no time. The single pole switches are even easier to install. The directions did not include the friendly diagrams found in the 3-Way directions, but that did not present a problem especially after wiring the 3-way switch first. What took me the most time in setup is going back and forth to the fuse box. If you have a friend (or are next to your box) you may be able to do this in 5 minutes per switch. Below are images of the difference in wiring between the single pole (the only switch controlling one set of lights) and the three way versions of this switch (one of several switches controlling a set of lights). Basically there are traveler wires to account for in the 3-way version. Screws, wire caps, covers and wire labels all are included, you will just want to have screwdrivers, wire pliers, cutters/strippers, electrical tape and a multimeter. (not all require but suggested). The switches come with single snap on covers. My house has only double, triple and quadruple gang boxes, which means that those covers would not work. I was able to go to the local hardware store and for less than $2 / box I was able to attach in proper covers. Snap on covers were about 4x the price if you want to avoid the screw heads showing. The covers are the standard size and I had no problems there. The buttons have nice features. They have a button light when off so you can find them in the dark. Once you download the app, they quickly sync. It did take me a bit of time to navigate the Alexa app to integrate them in (but that is an Amazon account linking issue). Once they were set up, it they have worked consistently (which is not something I can say for all smart switches) Overall I am very happy with these switches. If I had to make a complaint it may be how all smart switches feel when they click on or off (as compared to the sturdy feel of a traditional switch). This is being very picky, and as I am trying to avoid running around the house to manually hit switches, I am very happy to now say “Alexa, turn off all lights” and then go to bed. Overall I recommend these switches as I plan to replace not only my traditional switches, but also other smart switches I have previously installed with these throughout the entire house.

Very nice but then they fail within a few years
I have 5 of these around my house on 3 way light circuits. I really like them because they are easy to install, respond well to Alexa and are simple to use both manually and via wifi. However, they do not last very long. A regular 3 way switch will last for decades without any problem. I have had to replace 3 of these in 3 years. Two were covered under the warranty; the latest one is one year out of warranty and Treatlife will not replace it. It appears on Alexa ask the Treatlife app as being offline, the indicator light is no longer lit and it will not turn the light off or on manually. Treatlife customer service provided some troubleshooting suggestions but that's all. They will not stand behind their product because it's 1 year out of warranty. Of course, we're not talking about a lot of money but when you're dealing with an electrical device you've got to consider other implications of a failure. Will it simply stop working, as this and the others did, or is there something else wrong that could cause a fire or other damage if it isn't noticed in time. These are "FCC certified," I suppose because they transmit a Wifi signal, but there is no indication of a UL Listing . I will look for better alternatives.

Treatlife, a real treat! Only one 3-way Smart Switch needed per pair!
It’s been about a year since we installed 28 smart light switches throughout our home (26 being the Treatlife brand). I delayed providing a review to get some runtime in and now feel fully qualified to provide meaningful feedback. Currently, Treatlife offers three types of smart switches: normal single pole switches, dimmer switches, and these 3-way switches. They also offer different models, which I presume operate the same, but this review does not cover them (I don’t know which are the newer styles). Installation for all three of the switch styles we purchased is very similar and well documented instructions are provided. The 3-way switches can be installed as either 3-way switches (two switches operate the same light) or standard, single pole switches. This flexibility helps when planning the number & type of switches to purchase (they are cheaper when purchased in packs of four). What Treatlife does not offer is a combination 3-way dimmer switch. Physical installation is not difficult; a neutral (usually white) wire is required to provide current for the smart circuitry. Most of the “dumb” switches you replace are unlikely to have neutral wire connections, but unless your home is 40+ years old you are likely to find a neutral wire in the switch box. If you do have an older home, it would be wise to check for those neutral wires prior to ordering these Treatlife switches. Once installed with the power restored, the Smart Life – Smart Living App will walk you through connecting your smart switch to your home Wi-Fi network. I found that some of the switches were automatically found and added by the Smart Life app, but others I had to follow the in-app step by step instructions. In any case, connecting these switches to the network was not difficult. More on the originally recommended Smart Life – Smart Living app later (apparently Treatlife has their own app now). One word of caution regarding installation. These switches are very bulky, and the exteriors are of all plastic construction. One needs to neatly tuck in wiring to manage space within the electrical box. Because of the plastic construction, overtightening can cause binding. I found that if I overtightened the bottom screw, especially, the switch often wouldn’t operate correctly (i.e., pressing the switch may not turn the light on/off). So, manage the wiring in your electrical box and avoid overtightening to prevent binding and ensure proper operation. I was pleased to find out that for a pair of 3-way switches, only one switch must be replaced with a Treatlife 3-way smart switch for full functionality. I verified that it does not matter which of the two 3-way switches are replaced (in a 3-way switch circuit, one 3-way switch is connected to the line, or power, and one switch is connected to the load, or light, while the 3-way switches have two parallel lines running between them). Anyway, one doesn’t need familiarity with a 3-way light circuit to follow the provided smart switch installation instructions and only one of the 3-way switches needs to be replaced. All three smart switches have a discrete, circular indicator light. The color of the light tells you if the switch is connected to the network (red is not connected, white is). The indicator light will blink fast while connecting to the network, but the best feature is that they glow softly in the dark when the light is off. Indicator lights are also provided at the top of dimmer switches to indicate the brightness setting. Only on two occasions has one of our smart switches disconnected from the network. It hasn’t happened in months and I don’t know why it happened (two different switches on different days). The switches were not visible from the app when disconnected from the network. The switches can still be operated manually when disconnected from a network. The fix was as easy as pressing the reset button on the switch (see included instructions – easily accessible). Upon resetting, they auto connected to the network and were again visible in the app (all settings were retained and automatically re-applied). I have noticed that upon rebooting the Wi-Fi router or upon return of power after a power outage all the switches quickly reconnect to the network. A nice feature of the dimmer switch model is that lights gradually ramp up and down when being turned on and off. The lights dim/brighten at the perfect rate and it’s easy on the eyes! I wish, now, that I had purchased more dimmer switches – for as many as have bulbs that are dimmable – instead of single pole switches. The Smart Life – Smart Living app on the Google play store was the Treatlife recommended companion app when I purchased these switches. It has worked remarkably well, not just for these switches, but for nearly all subsequent smart home devices (the exceptions being ecobee Smart Thermostat and Kwikset Halo deadbolt, which each have their own proprietary smart apps). Since my purchase and setup, Treatlife has come out with their own companion smart app. My comments on the app address only the Smart Life – Smart Living app by Volcano Technology Limited (which I believe is or was affiliated with Tuya Inc.). I’ve had good success with this app and don’t intend to change to the Treatlife app. Since these Treatlife smart Wi-Fi switches were my first smart home devices, my only control option initially was through the recommended Smart Life – Smart Living app. The app is easy to obtain (Google Play Store – look for the one by Volcano Technology) and walks you through initial setup. As I recall, your first step is to create & name a “home” within the App. Then you add smart devices that you want to control and there are a TON of categories (i.e., Electrical, Lighting, Sensors, Large Home Appliances, Small Home Appliances, Kitchen Appliances, Exercise & Health, Security & Video Surveillance, Gateway Control, Energy, Entertainment, Industry & Agriculture, and “Others”). Each category has many device types. You want the Electrical category and either the Switch (Wi-Fi) device for this product & the single pole switches or the Dimmer Switch device for the Treatlife dimmers (naturally). Once your Treatlife switch is installed and the power is restored, just open the App, click on the plus (+) icon at the top, select the category & device as mentioned, and follow the on-screen step-by-step instructions to connect. It’s all very easy. You’ll add the device to your home in the App, choose a room (optional) and rename the device as desired. Organizing your home, rooms and devices in the app is all part of the fun! All your smart devices are listed upon opening the app and they are controlled from there. You may arrange the devices in any preferred order, and you may view devices by room. One of the best features is the Automation. Have a closet light that is left on habitually? Set up an automation to turn it off after a time delay. Tired of coming home from a long day at work only to see that nobody turned off the porch light and it’s been on needlessly during daylight hours? Simply set up an automation that turns it off every morning at sunrise. A few automations are shown in the pictures. I will say there are no app instructions that I could find, but playing around will yield results without too much difficulty. The most complex automation I’ve created so far (a lot of trial & error for this one) was auto dimming the Master Bath lights within a specific time period, with the additional conditions that the light could be brightened once turned on, but they would dim again upon turning them off. No more fumbling with the dimmer while groggy during nighttime business – just turn on the light with no worries of being blinded! Tap-to-Run is another type of automation feature I have only recently played around with in the app. Once set up, a single tap will operate multiple devices. We have a Tap-to-Run established that turns off all but one light in the common areas to establish “Movie Lighting.” Thus, the normal Automations run whenever the conditions are met and Tap-to-Run actions require user activation. However, when it comes to operation, whether single devices or multiple devices via Tap-to-Run, Alexa via a smart echo speaker is Queen! Alexa integrates seamlessly with the Smart Life – Smart Living app! Honestly, my opinion is that without a smart speaker a smart home isn’t all that smart. Alexa is the perfect choice for a home assistant. “Alexa, turn off the Family Room Light.” “Alexa, turn on Movie Lighting.” The Smart Life – Smart Living app is required to create Automations or add smart devices (Alexa recognizes the new devices the instant they are added). But once you have a smart speaker, the app will rarely be used to operate the Treatlife switches. Alexa adds additional functionality in another way: establishing device grouping. With groups established within the Alex app (not the Smart Life app) additional commands are available. “Alexa, turn off all the lights.” “Alexa, turn off the downstairs lights.” “Alexa, turn off the lights in the Living Room.” I set up Google Home and the Google Assistant just to try it out. It does integrate with the Smart Life – Smart Living app, but frankly, Alexa is superior to Google (however I won’t explain why here since it has nothing to do with these Treatlife switches). I highly recommend these Treatlife switches as a start to anyone’s smart home project. The convenience of having remote operation of all lights in the home cannot be overstated. Alexa, Treatlife and the Smart Life – Smart living app; a terrific trio!

Work as intended, Almost!
First, I am writing this review in hopes of receiving free switches as compensation. Second, I am an Engineer by trade; I understand and use different terms for how electrical and mechanisms work. Results may vary. I have procured a total of 12 each 4 pack boxes of Treatlife switches, both single pole and 3-way, with another 3 more boxes to go. I will be changing every switch to smart switches for function. I'm breaking down my stars by categories, so you either get the star or don't. Price-1 out of 1 star. With using the $10 off coupon at check out, final price came to approx. $12.50/each 3-way switch. Price is extremely reasonable. Installation-1 out of 1 star. If you understand basic home electrical wiring and know the color code for wiring, super easy to install. If you don't and you can comprehend and follow basic instructions & color coded diagrams, it can be accomplished. Each switch comes with 5 wire nuts capable of connecting 2 each 14 awg wires, 2 mounting screws and a 1-gang screwless faceplate per 3-way switch. If your installing more than 1 switch in a gang box, the plate will not work. Also if your installing more than 1 switch in a gang box and have 3 or more wires needing the connected by a wire nut, spring for a bag of red color wire nuts. The red ones are able to hold up to 4 each 14 awg wires. Downloading the Home Life App and connecting them to the wife, super easy. Migrating them to the Alexa App, super easy. Just follow the directions. Customer Service-1 out of 1 star. I contacted them about a problem, they responded. That's about it. Problem with product-0 out of 1 star-This series circuit is not the issue. I am using this strictly as a baseline for proof of application. Installed 2 each Treatlife 3-way switches and 1 each 4-way toggle switch in the same series circuit in the following sequence: Line:3-way:4-way:3-way:Load. When using the Home Life or Alexa App, I toggle to close the circuit, the symbols in the Home Life App and Alexa App show “ON”. The light is in fact on. When toggling any switch, either the 3-way or 4-way manually, both lights in both Apps show as “ON”. Everything works perfect. Absolutely no issues. However, installed 2 each Treatlife 3-way switches with 2 each 4-way toggles switches in the series circuit in the following sequence: Line:3-way:4-way:4-way:3-way:Load. When using the Home Life or Alexa App, I toggle to close the circuit, only 1 of the symbols in the Home Life App and Alexa App shows “ON”. When toggling to open the circuit, nothing happens. I have to toggle the light again, finally the circuit opens turning the light off. I have 2 circuits that have 2 each 4-way switches in them, and both operate as described. To prove to myself I didn’t do anything wrong, I too 1 of the 4-way switches out of the circuit, works exactly as proof of concept described above. Having 2 each 4-way switches does something that I cannot troubleshoot. Resolution with the product-0 out of 1 star. Treatlife sent me a wiring diagram and asked me to confirm my wiring. I did. They said to remove one of 3-way switches out of the circuit. This is not an option for me personally. All switches in the same gang box must be the same, for aesthetic purposes. This problem still exists. Note if the problem would have been resolved, they would have received 4 out of 5 stars. If no problem at all it would have been 5 out of 5 stars. Hopefully they come up with a solution for the problem. Hopefully it will in the form of a firmware update that controls the switch/app feedback to accurately depict the condition of the light. What if your on vacation and want to toggle a light. If your not receiving accurate feedback on the status of the light, you could potentially leave a light on. Things to add. When the circuit is open, the switch mechanism face plate emits faint illumination which in in pitch dark comes in handy as a reference point when navigating a room. I wish they had a 4-way switch that matches the single pole and 3-way switches. Swing over to the single pole switches for my other review. Its as in depth as this one.

5 Stars!!! Ecellent product!
5 stars - The switch was a retrofit into an existing 3 way. The installation was fairly easy although the old switch wiring diagram was a bit different than the one supplied in the example. The rest of the installation went fairly well although with all of the wire nuts in the box and the size of the switch, it was a bit of a struggle to fit everything into a gang box with 2 other switches. The smart setup wouldn't work by using the "easy setup" and I had to go into the alternative setting to set it up, although overall it wasn't bad. Once i had one switch completed the smart setup went a lot faster for the second 3 way switch. The smart switch works great. Very happy with the purchase and I'd recommend this product.

Super easy to install
I have tried a few other 3-way smart switches and they all required some type of non-standard wiring or knowledge of which traveler wire is connected to which pole on the other switch. This smart switch does not require either. Simply identify the load/line wire (usually connected to the black terminal and the other wires are the travelers. Connect the wires to the labeled connections on the switch and you are good to go. I happen to use the SmartLife app and adding the switches was a piece of cake. I would have rated them a 5 but they have all plastic bodies which seem a bit flimsy.

Actual Traveler Wires
Overall this is an excellent product. A few notes: - these switches are compatible with Tasmota or ESPHome for those interested in that setup. - It has a plastic body but feels sturdy. It fits in nicely in a multi-gang box, and if using a single-gang box, the included plates look really nice. - The body of the switch is pretty bulky, so it will require some good wire management behind the switch. In my case, I have two sets of 3-way switches, each set in a 3-gang box. I was able to put two wifi switches in one of the boxes with a third regular switch (shown in the picture) and I put the wifi switch for the third light in the other box. It would have been difficult if not impossible to fit 3 wifi switches in a single box as there is very little space at the back for all the wire nuts. - It has two LED lights - in my configuration they are white when off and red when on - It has two actual traveler wires, unlike some other wifi 3 way switches that have only one traveler wire. Both systems work, but some might prefer one over the other. The other regular switch controls the light as well, and this Wifi switch knows the current status and changes the LED colour. - I use two of these switches for a 3 way setup I have by the stairs (shown in the picture), and the other two in a regular single-pole setup for the exhaust fans in the washrooms. They are a great alternative to a timer switch, which is usually more expensive, as these can be timed.

Do not buy these switches. 4 Failed miserably
im doing you a favour!!! Avoid buying this 3 way. These Treatlife dont last. i missed the cut off to return them by 4 days. These were super easy to install, App is basic and sufficient, nothing to brag about. wiring and plastic are good quality like Wemo. *The mechanism inside is Chinese inferior bad quality that does not meet ULC and CSA certifications. Anyone can stamp the logo on a box. im a 52 year old power engineer working in Maintenance at the hospital. ive bought tons of junk before going on referals from cheap filipinos who like garbage Wyze products and ive bought great expensive brand names like TPLink and Wemo on Amazon.ca and Amazon.com Do not buy these TreatLife as they short out after half a day or a day later. These were used to replaced my master bedroom 3way switch, I replaced the same switches 4 times with same brand 3way wifi switch from TreatLife. All failed!!! i had two electricians from work who said my wiring are clean. These switches from TreatLife are very sensitive electronics that are not heavy duty cycle and will fail for whatever reason. Our Professional Rating is a F for Fail. I recommend you chose instead , buy a better name brand from TP-Link Kasa that im currently using in my livingroom and Wemo in the Kitchen. Now-on im strictly only buying "TP Link Products", the Kasa line and i have replaced the Wemo also with a TpLink switch.

Updated: Had 2 of the 4 fail after a couple of years.
This is an update in this item, after a couple of years I have had 2 of the 4 just stop working, I am replacing them with the TpLink Kasa ones which seems to not fail so far. Easy to install and integrates with Alexa in a breeze, works like a charm. Bought 4 of them and looking forward to get more.
