Logitech MK750 Wireless Solar Keyboard & Marathon Mouse Combo

A few years ago on a whim, I picked up the Logictech Marathon mouse, because my work mouse had a very loose mouse wheel. At the time, it was a bit of a hard decision, as it was a $40 mouse, for work. But it was wireless and batteries lasted 3 years, so, why not? I ended up loving the mouse. A year later, I started having similar issues with my work keyboard, and decided to get a new keyboard, and ended up deciding on the K750 solar keyboard. I was concerned about lighting issues, but that ended up not being an issue for my office space. So, this combo then? Given that I loved the mouse and keyboard so much, and had so little issues with either, I decided to get this, which ended up being slightly cheaper than I could find individually. Here's been my experience these items so far. Mouse: the 3 year battery life is probably overstated, though I'm not sure how they came up with that number. My original mouse lasted about 18 months or so with the batteries that were included in the package. I haven't had any issues with the mouse, though I have noticed that the new mouse wheel is a loose, so when moving the mouse forward and backward a lot, I sometimes inadvertently scroll up or down on whatever I'm working on. The lock button solves that issue, but I don't love turning the lock on and off all the time. Keyboard: They keyboard works pretty well. It's a fairly standard chic-let style keyboard, though does have some laptop style function buttons. It feels similar to a laptop keyboard, with an overall short stroke distance.That said, I do find it slightly more comfortable than actual laptops. The keyboard is nice and quiet to use, which I think my office mates appreciate. The only problem I faced with this keyboard was when the backspace key cap broke. This happened a little over a year after I bought the keyboard. I contacted logitech, asking for a new key (since I was still under warranty), and rather than sending me a keycap, they ended up sending me an entirely new keyboard. I got to keep the broken keyboard, which worked great, as I was able to buy a new key cap from ebay for about $3. I haven't had any issues with battery life. My office space was next to a tinted window, where we would primarily keep the lights off. Now, i sit in a cubicle with only florescent lighting, and both areas worked fine. The new keyboard sits in a much darker corner and seems to charge enough during the day to keep powered at night. Note: there aren't any LEDs for the capslock, numlock and scroll lock buttons, so it can difficult to determine if those are on. Overall: I would definitely recommend this combo. I'd only be concerned if I worked in very dark area, due to the keyboard. Performance wise, I think this works great as an office space keyboard and mouse. Once at home, I have played several games with this keyboard and mouse and would recommend it, but I know the community can be quite picky, so if you're super concerned about response times, you may want to look at other mouses and keyboards. I would say that there aren't any issues with more relaxed games, or with less competitive-oriented players.

I've used Logitech wireless mice before. However, I've always used an Apple keyboard with my iMac. I was intrigued by the solar keyboard and the Unifying receiver. This is my first Logitech wireless keyboard. Here's my feedback after using MK750: About the keyboard: - It is bigger than the Apple wired keyboard with num pad and I like the keyboard legs. Seems just the right incline. The legs seem a little flimsy, but we'll just have to see. - The keyboard is made with good quality material. The keys seem to be using a different mechanical design, thus keyboard stuck is more difficult to occur. Keyboard mechanical design is well thought off by Logitech. It gives out fainted sound and most importantly the right feel when being typed. Thus, I would be able to concentrate on my thought for the most part (without having to see if I misplace my fingers or hand positions etc). - It provides just the essential functions that you need from a keyboard Although it does come with the expected Fn key and the normal capability to launch some gadget applications. It has everything I need for my iMac. - The solar panel is a great plus. It seems to be using very little amount of light (as advertised). The battery came charged from the factory. I try running it for several days with the solar panel being covered by one sheet of paper. It still shows the battery is charged (the green LED came up when checked). I have the blinds pulled in my computer room, but ambient light and overhead lights are enough to power. About the mouse: - MK750 mouse weight is a little lighter than the wired M-U0007 and has a smaller footprint. I like that as my workspace is small. - Scroll wheel has 2 modes, i.e., hyper fast and precision mode. Pretty much the same buttons as the M-U0007. No relearning. - It also has a small compartment to store that Unifying USB receiver, in case you want to take it on the road. Another good idea there. Logitech provided two AA Duracell for the mouse. About the setup: - A snap! Plug in the Unifying USB, turn on the keyboard and OSX has you push two keys and it identifies the keyboard. Put in the batteries and turn on the switch and OSX recognizes. Any additional setup is done through system preferences. I look forward to using the combo for a long time to come.

I purchased this because I had a bluetooth version for my ipad that has been running for over a year now with out issues. I swear that thing is going to outlast the ipad it self well it seems that way any way. I have also had non solar powered wireless keyboards from logitech that have lasted a long time. It was usually my fault that they stopped working. Like spilling something on it or having it pushed off the desk by a cat. The battery in most of my other wireless keyboards have lasted about 2 years so I was thinking this being solar powered that it would last much longer. I have been running it for a little over a week and it just now dropped to showing 99% charge so if it goes down 1% just over a week this thing should last around 2 years. The mouse is still at 100% and it says it will last for another 1090 days. When I first started using it it said it would last 1095 days. So that has so far lasted long then it says it will. Which is good because wireless mice like this that I have had in the past needed new batteries once a month. So that is a plus for this mouse if it actually does last as long as it says it will or even longer. I am happy about that. Back to the charging on the keyboard, now I do work in a very dim lit area. The solar app the shows the battery level in the keyboard and shows the amount of light usually stays at about 15 which is in the red on the meter that it has. I can get that meter to show 100 which is closer to the green if I pick the keyboard up and face it at the window. If you are not sure what the solar app is here is a link to it [...] . That also shows you the meter that I am talking about. So far I am really liking this keyboard. It is easy to type on and does not hurt the hands. The mouse feels good in the hand as well.

I've only had this keyboard about a week now but so far it is working perfectly. I have a situation where the PC is in one room and the monitor and keybord is in another just on the other side of.the wall. The distance is only a few feet but most other keyboards have a problem working. I'm not sure if the problem is with wiring and metal duct work in the wall or what but the problem is a major frustration. This keyboard doesn't seem to have this issue. It is as responsive as if it were a wired keyboard. The solar charging is a very nice feature and I will no longer have to worry about batteries. The mouse does use AA batteries but they are supposed to last for years, we'll see. The app that you can download to keep track of the charge of the keyboard and amount of solar charging is a nice feature. I'm guessing though after a while you won't use it much. So long as the keyboard is working there's not much reason to care about the solar input or even the state of battery charge. But it you want to know the app is easy to use. A single press of a buttons on the keyboard launches it. No more complicated than that. The feel of the keys when you are typing is nice, though my enter key seems to stick a bit before popping up when released. It doesn't affect anything so I'm not going to worry about it for now. Over all a nice keyboard that lets you forget about worrying about batteries.

I bought this set for work. I hate the regular keyboards as I am used to laptops. This keyboard works perfectly in my office. It does not require sunlight, it works from the overhead light. The keyboard shows the dust and finger prints but cleans up well with just a cloth. I like the off switch. I turn it off every night. I have not had a problem with the keyboard and I don't expect to. You do need to download the software for the keyboard if you want to know if caps lock is on or off. The marathon mouse is great. It works well and I have not have any problems with it either. It is comfortable for a right handed person. I would have liked it better if it was an ambidextrous design because I tend to use my left hand sometimes but it works. I have always been a fan of Logitech and they have never disappointed me.

I chose to buy this combo to replace my old Logitech solar keyboard which, at a couple of years old, had developed problems. First of all, its recharge capacity became severely limited over time to the point where it was almost impossible to charge it in natural light and it was forever giving me low charge warnings. Secondly, a couple of keys on the numerical keypad had become "sticky," i.e. they took a while to pop back up after pressing them (very annoying as you can imagine). I also wanted to replace my Logitech MX Anywhere mouse, which although I loved very much, had developed a problem wherein the left mouse button was frequently registering two clicks when I pressed it once (again, very annoying). I noticed that this combo deal included a different mouse, the Marathon, which looked to me to be virtually the same except a little bigger and with a much longer battery life. Well, this purchase didn't go too well for me. First of all, the keyboard was shipped with a dime sized patch of moisture under the plastic covering on one of the solar panels. I could move it around by pressing on it. I thought it might go away in time, but after nearly a week it became clear it was there to stay. The item was securely wrapped when I got it so I can only presume the moisture got in there at the factory. That's some bad quality control - it should never have left the premises! Onto the mouse. I had two problems with this - firstly, quality control. The clickable mouse wheel would sometimes, again, register two clicks when I pressed it. This was inexcusable. Secondly, the design of this mouse compared to the MX Anywhere is terrible. On the MX Anywhere, there is a middle mouse button directly under the wheel which by default is set to open a link in a new tab in your browser. This is so convenient! The Marathon Mouse also has a middle button, but it's to toggle the mouse wheel between smooth and notched movement. What's more, it doesn't work very well (I found myself pressing it three or four times to register the change). So how do you open a browser link in a new tab with the Marathon? Well, you do it by clicking the mouse wheel. This sounds OK in theory, but in practice it's as annoying as hell. It's almost impossible to click the mouse wheel without actually moving the wheel itself, so I frequently found myself scrolling the screen before the click was registered - which means you miss the link. I cannot describe how infuriating this is compared to the middle mouse button on the MX Anywhere. So the upshot is that I returned this package for a refund. I decided instead to purchase the keyboard (which I still wanted) in a retail store, and to purchase another MX Anywhere mouse separately. It cost about $25 more doing it like this, but I figured it was worth it. HOWEVER. The new keyboard, while being completely free of moisture patches, also has a problem. The left CTRL key isn't set right and it sometimes sticks when I press it. I have concluded that the standard of manufacturing at Logitech just ain't that hot. Oh well...maybe it will unstick in time. At this point I cannot be bothered to return yet another item.

Great keyboard!!! I have owned this item for 2 years and it has worked flawlessly with my mac mini. The keyboard is in a well lit room and as a result I have never once had to change or charge the batteries. Unlike the mighty mouse I have which eats batteries. All of the familiar "Mac" buttons are present on the keyboard most importantly the volume(up & down) for me. Its profile is very slim and comfortable to type on for hours. The only con i could see is that the tabs on the underside that flip down to give the keyboard some incline are a bit flimsy and if you had kids mashing on it they could break.

The keyboard feels solid and works well. I have no issues with keeping a charge. I wasn't a fan of the mouse for three reasons. 1) It is a bit light for me which isn't really an issue at all, just personal preference. 2) The buttons are too easy to push - not enough feedback which, again, is personal preference and 3) The infinity scroll is broken in that it is stuck in that mode so I can't toggle it to normal scrolling. I'm not worried about it because I intend to buy a different mouse anyway. Overall I'd recommend getting the keyboard by itself and more of a serious mouse to go with it. You are probably limited to the Logitech mice that have the technology to connect with other components unless you are okay with using multiple USB ports or will use Bluetooth techology. Cheers!
