101 Great Science Experiments

I purchased this book for a secret santa give away at school. It is a good quality book with lots of fun experiments to do. Lots of common items you already have in your home to make it easy for students to do experiments without having to wait to get items they don't already have access to. I would buy again.

Every single time I visit my sister my 8 year old nephew tells me about science experiments he was participating in and did at school with such excitement and joy that I decided to buy this book for him. My nephew was thrilled when he received it and that makes me happy. This is an excellent book with lots of good ideas, clearly illustrated experiments, instructions are easy to follow and what's importantly cheap to do. Some of them a bit hard for his age but the ones he had done by himself or with the help of an adult were fun. My nephew told about this book to his classmates and some of the kids parents were asking my sister where she bought it lol Buy with confidence. You will not be disappointed.

This book has a lot of fun experiments and projects that get my 5 year old son very excited. However, some projects require special supplies that we don’t have in the house. To build the banjo, I had to go to 4 different stores (Michael’s, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, and Ralphs) to get the necessary items: paint, gloss, glue, colored duct tape, tacks, eyelet screws, an oversized balloon, wooden planks, fishing line, and a plastic tub. In the end, the banjo didn’t even work well. It was more decorative than anything else.

We got this book for my daughter who can not get enough of the science stuff!! She really loves and understands science. It motivates her to constantly learn more and to even teach what she has learned to everyone she comes in contact with. She is almost 13 and loves this book. She does experiments with her friends. It's so refreshing to see teen girls actually interacting with each other, working through experiments, and having fun while learning rather than "interacting" by being in the same room on the phone or tablet. I definitely recommend this book to anyone!

Excellent hands-on, easy experiments and projects that are engaging and help people to understand the natural world around them. Great pictures, explanations, and descriptions. The materials are simple and cheap and can be found around the house for the most part. This is a nice collection. Also look into "The Science of....." series by Neil Ardley. They are excellent resources. Just want to buy one? Get this one: it's fantastic and comprehensive!

The photos are very good, the instructions are clear and simple, and the appeal is great for kids! I bought this for my granddaughter for her 8th birthday. Her mom is planning to do science experiments with her this summer. This will help my daughter to do fun experiments with both of her daughters.

This book has some good ideas, but doesn't really have the scientific method in mind. The questions don't keep independent and dependent variables in mind when conducting the experiment. I had to change each of the experiments to allow the students to measure something and keep a log book (critical foundational skill). It's a good book if you just want to do science - like projects. It needs some tweaking in order to use it in the classroom.

I bought it as a gift for my nephews, and they seem to enjoy reading it.

Had many great showable experiments for the kids as well as many experiments perfectly doable on their own with minor guidance. However, many experiments are either more of the same, or not practical. So 4 out of 5 for me.

Great book! I purchased it for my 9 year old granddaughter and she is super excited to try all the experiments! Learning and fun!

Bought it for my 4 year old, some good experiments in there for her and many more too advanced so should get decent usage for a few years

Quite simple experiments and the kids love it.
