Nickelodeon Bubble Guppies - Nintendo DS

We bought this game as an Easter gift for our daughter who loves the Bubble Guppies. She enjoys playing it, but some of the games are a little advanced for her. We also have the Bubble Guppies iPod app which she seems to play more, but that could be because its easier to steal Daddy's iPod and play instead of getting the old DS from wherever she left it last. I'm hoping as she gets more familiar with the games she'll play it more.UPDATE: 3 months later, and our daughter loves this game. She now understands how to navigate the menus to get to the games and how to play each one. She still needs occasional assistance, usually when the touchpad is dirty and not responding so she can't get it to drag items, but other than that this is one of her favorite electronic games (we also have a tablet that she plays games on) and is a great way to keep her entertained in the car.

Since recieving this for my son's 4th birthday he has played it every chance he gets, he's even already beat it (with in 3 days). He doesn't seem to mind and continues to play it telling me he, "will play this game forever." If your child does not know the answer the game will give hints so they don't get stuck. I would be aware that this game is GREAT for little ones but could easily become a bore if you're a little older (my 10 year old does not find it entertaining at all).

Personally I felt the colors and graphic quality and game play were average on this game.Will it meet your preschoolers expectations? Probably at first if they are a fan of the show. My son was very delighted to receive it as he loves the bubble guppies. Judging by how long it holds his interest compare to other games we own I'd say its a bit under average. Honestly we own about 35 ds games so I have a lot of others to compare this one too. For the price it isn't of equal interest for my 3 year old.There is adventure mode and a racing challenge. In adventure mode children learn about patterns, matching, animal sounds, etc. It is very similar to some of the Dora ds games in terms of what activities the child does. My son does enjoy the racing mode more than the adventure piece. In adventure mode it seems like you have to go through the screens in their order vs being to pick and choose yourself what activities you want to do. This game seems best suited to a 4 or 5 year old.Overall if they are a big fan if the show they will probably enjoy it. I do like that it makes an effort to provide some educational value for this preschool market. I just wish overall for the price it was as entertaining as other similarly priced games.

My 4yo son got a DS for Christmas, and this is one of the games he recieved. He loves this game, it was very easy for him to figure out how to play it, but still challenging. He enjoys learning all the new facts, and loves to "show" his 2yo sister how to play.

My daughter loves it. It keeps her entertained and the education is subtle enough. A big bonus is the Bubble Guppies aren't loudmouth nags like Dora. I just wish they could have extended the gameplay a little more; she's 4 years old and has already gone through it twice.

My little guy has some fine motor delays, so I purchased this in hopes that it would encourage those skills. Most of the play is based off the touch screen. Its perfect for little ones that want to "play" video games but can't quite master the buttons yet. My son is 3.5 and can do most of the game himself. He loves it!

My granddaughter loves the Bubble Guppies, so I bought this for her for Christmas. At first it appeared as if she didn't like it, but once my daughter sat with her and showed her what to do, she loves it!

My 3 year old really enjoys this game. Just wish that it was adjustable to his level as he's not quite familiar with numbers above 10 yet it would be nice if the game recognized difficulty levels.
