Wilton Lavender Candy Melts® Candy, 12 oz.

This was the perfect shade of Lavender. The disc's melt easily but add a thinner to them due to the thickness. EZ Thin I believe. It was my first time but they came out pretty.

This worked great for chocolate covered pretzels.

The taste was good, and the color was as described.

When melting down do not overheat, vegetable oil or any type of oil is best to help get a smooth consistency.

I bought these really close to a birthday party we were having, so it was really close timing when I got this. When I saw the package, the texture looked chalky (i.e. had been sitting on a shelf too long or thrown around), which wasn't a big deal if it melted like the all the other ones I ordered (yellow from Amazon, and the white ones in store). But when I melted it using the instructions on the bag (same as the other ones), it melted to result in a slightly dried playdoh texture. So it wasn't melting properly, period. Then the next day when I tried again, the melts smelled like soap. I'm glad I didn't use it or it could have made someone sick. Anyway, case in point: order early, prepare to return. I opened it already and don't care about my 3 bucks purchase, so won't do a return. But with even having amazon.com as the "sold by", it doesn't guarantee quality, just the return procedure.

Melted easy and tastes great

Maybe I had no idea what I was doing... but I could not get these to melt properly. The chocolate seized up and never got smooth, even after following the bag's directions. I also bought the pink candy melts and didn't have this issue at all. (But - PRO TIP - even though it sounds gross, I followed the review recommendations and added a tablespoon of Crisco while melting the pink chocolate and it got smooth and melted perfectly. The chocolate still set up as expected and made great chocolate covered oreos.) Bottom line - I don't know if it's because I didn't add the Crisco, but this color candy melt didn't work for me.
