Decent products. Good value.
These batteries hold their charge well, in an occasionally used torch they were still working fine after 12 months. Good value for money.

Not to be trusted (2)
Further to my review yesterday titled 'not to be trusted' suggesting the batteries were faulty was not a fair one. Yesterday I had a further 2 batteries which were 'dead' and my 'intelligent' charger status was null so I was beginning think that something wasn't quite right so I put then in a 'not so clever charger' for a short while and they have come back to life. I'm still not sure how 2 of 4 batteries could be 'dead' and the security light still working and why there was such a discrepancy of charge when all the batteries were charged at the same time. My conclusion is that the jury is still out on 'not to be trusted' until I can be confident we are not going to be left in the dark when most needed but for most purposes where usage is monitored my now initial impression is that they represent very good value for money.

Great batteries.
These are great. They take a good charge from an older charger I had available, and last quite a while in most appliance. Have purchased 2 packs now, once you get started and see how good they really are. Wife has several battery operated air fresheners, each taking 3 batteries, expensive if you do not use rechargeable.

Good batteries at excellent price
Like many people I tend to use a lot of AA and AAA batteries. I've tried various manufacturers of rechargeable batteries, but read an independent review that praised these Amazon Basics batteries. I tried some and have been impressed. They seem to last well, and are usable straight out of the box, although with a slightly lower life before requiring a recharge. In fact my understanding is that often these batteries need several recharges before reaching full capacity (just what I've heard, can't confirm). According to my 'smart charger' they are full at 1.48v so almost the same as 1.5v alkaline batteries. I did have one that wouldn't automatically recharge. Normally people throw them away when that happens, however there are several internet videos that show you how to 'kick start' the battery so that it will recharge. I've used the technique on several occasions (for various makes of battery) and it works a treat. From having a seemingly 'dead' battery it recovers to become a fully usable battery again so don't chuck those apparently duff batteries away. Amazon don't like URLs in reviews so you'll have to look it up yourself.

Budget-friendly way to go rechargeable, but be prepared to handle the initial charging yourself.
These batteries are a budget-friendly way to go rechargeable, but be prepared to handle the initial charging yourself. The Good Excellent Price Point: For an 8-pack, the cost is hard to beat, making the initial investment negligible. Performance Post-Charge: Once they get their first full charge, they hold power reliably and perform well in high-drain modern devices. The Bad Not Pre-Charged: The major fault is the misleading claim—mine arrived completely dead. Amazon needs to address their quality control regarding the "Pre-Charged" guarantee. Factor in a 4-8 hour charging session right out of the box. Compatibility Alert: Be cautious when using these in older or highly sensitive electronic equipment. Like many NiMH batteries (1.2V), they may fail to power devices designed strictly for 1.5V alkaline cells. They work best in newer toys, flashlights, and controllers. Recommendation: Buy if you prioritize saving money and are using them in modern, non-sensitive equipment. Just charge them immediately upon arrival.

Great Batteries
These are always at a great price point and last as long as much more expensive brands. I use them in clocks, remotes, solar lights and many more uses.
