WOW! This is a whole new ball game for Razor!
I didn't buy it to ride. I'm building a custom trike wheelchair and got it to cannibalize the front end including the downtube. When I pulled it out of the box, it was so heavy I though it must be made of steel, not aluminum. Grabbed a magnet. It's aluminum. ..........In the past, Razor scoots were built as much as possible from off the shelf parts to minimize capital investment in manufacturing capability, and the design philosophy was "good enough". .......... This is a whole different animal. The main frame member is a complex custom extrusion, it was designed to be finished off by robotic welding, and to go together without any screws. The deck decal is not a decal, the sand material is put directly onto the aluminum deck and is almost impossible to remove even using using solvents. The paint is thick and I presume powdercoat. The aluminum is heavy guage, not lighter weight as I've seen on prior Razors I've cannibalized. The wheels are off the shelf standard split plastic hub 8 inchers but strong, with 10 mm axles and custom made spacers to fit a genuine bicycle style fork that has a slight amount of angle. They paid attention to every detail. ........ I gave it 5 for durability even though I cannibalized it. Why? You could beat an Abrams tank to death with this thing. I don't know how a human being riding it could ever break it other than by wearing out the tire or the cartridge type sealed bearings. And if that ever happens, just buy a replacement wheel assembly right here on Amazon. NOTE: to prevent flats, put some "slime" or equivalent into the tubes. If you have no experience with "slime", it seems like it wouldn't really work. But when i was a kid I had a paper route with lots of goathead stickers, so trust me on this, the stuff really does work.

Fun and safer for kids than regular "road" scooters
My kids (aged 5 and 7) love their Razor Pro RDS dirt scooters. They are more fun and easier to handle than the regular more lightweight "road" scooters with hard polyurethane tires that go jerking and jarring down the street. The dirt scooters are not as fast, but they glide along on rough broken pavement and up over sidewalks, making them a good replacement for regular lightweight scooters as the kids go a bit slower on them (which is a good thing) and they are less likely to crash (a very good thing). My single complaint (hence the ding of 1 star on 'sturdiness') is that although they are very sturdy, one of the wheels had a slight rattle for a while that was a bit annoying. We haven't had any issues so far with deflated tires that some owners on here have reported. Note that these red (or black) original RDS dirt scooters are slightly less tall and slightly lighter than the updated Razor Phase 2 versions (which come in teal or diamond edition) and are therefore more suitable for children.

Sturdy and Solid.
Purchased this for my son and he loves it. The scooter was easy to assemble, sturdy and secure. My son has been riding this scooter on pavement and dirt with no issues when transitioning from one surface to another. The tires are pneumatic (air filled) which makes for a softer ride vs the hard roller blade style wheels which some scooters come with. I have taken it out for a quick spin myself and being an adult and larger then my son the scooter supported my weight with no issues. Sturdy and solid construction makes this scooter a 5 Star purchase.

Make sure to fill tires to correct psi before you ride!
I am a 5'3" lady who has loved scooters since I was little. I have several different Razor scooters already which I love but I never had one with air tires before. My 4 year old son started wanting to ride with me every day so I decided to get the dirt scooter for myself. I was worried about the handlebar height since it's not adjustable but it works fine for me since I'm fairly short. The scooter got here a day early so I was happy about that. However, when I opened it and put it together, I tried riding across our wood floors to test it and it was super slow! I thought maybe it was just because of the different type of tire but when I took it outside with my son it was so hard to push myself around that I quit and went back to my old scooter. I pressed on the tires and they seemed full so I didn't think it was an air problem but we pumped them up anyway and sure enough that solved the problem! I went from having buyers remorse to having my new favorite scooter. I know the instructions tell you to make sure the tires are inflated when you get it but I don't really read instructions on scooters since they seem self explanatory. Also, the tires are hard and were not showing any signs of being flat until we checked the PSI with an air pump. So anyway, just thought this info would be helpful for you to know. I've now been riding in the street with my son for a week and I love how this scooter isn't bothered by the many pieces of gravel we have around due to construction. It's a smoother ride for rougher terrain so I like it a lot for our riding area. If I were at a park with a super smooth surface I would take my other scooters since they are faster on smooth surfaces but for riding on our rough pavement I really like this dirt scooter. It's lighter than I thought it would be and overall a nice ride and decent price.

Well built. I can even ride it at 180 pounds. My twins love them.
Bought two for my twin daughters. They're almost 50 pounds, in 3rd grade and love them. I have used it as well to walk (run) the dog. He loves to run along side. I'm 180 pounds and it supports me quite well. That said, it I were to seriously ride this every day at 5'9", I would want it longer and have adjustable height handlebars. Maybe they need to build the "adult" size as well? But it is made for kids and I believe almost indestructible. The rubber tires are perfect for dirt, gravel and rough asphalt. Maybe a too heavy if your child is not yet 40 pounds. Also works awesome on smooth surfaces.

Ride (almost) EVERYWHERE - with video for assembling it by an eleven year old - including a couple tricks!
With four kids ranging 6-11 years old, we have many Razor scooters. One of the big drawbacks to scootering has been that we live on a dirt road. We also regularly find ourselves carrying our scooters past road construction or when we are cutting thru dirt pathways connecting neighborhoods. The Razor Pro RDS Dirt Scooter has completely solved all of these problems for us. No longer are small rocks and gravel on the road a problem. Ditto cracks in the sidewalk and cutting over grass at the park. The kids like it so much that Richard (11 years old) recorded a video to show others how to put it together (it requires a little assembly, but as you will see, and eleven year old can easily do it). He also demonstrates a couple tricks.

Love these scooters!!!
We do a lot of Old Volkswagen camping events and the terrain is not always the best. Bought 3 of these a few days ago and took them on our first camping trip! Gotta say they did amazingly well, kids rode the scooters on dirt, grass, and somewhat rocky asphalt. Scooters are heavy duty and look great that we even got compliments on them. Putting the scooter together was fairly easy to do, only flaw was I caught my self having a harder time adding air to the tires. Had to actually remove one tire from all 3 of the scooters in order to add air and kinda struggled with the second tires on them. I’m 5’2” and I find the handles to be a little to low for my comfort but I can deal with it. I believe if you are any taller than that, you’ll be hunched over while holding the handle bars, there’s no way of making the handle bars go higher or lower it’s set to one height only.

If your looking for a great all terrain scooter for your kids, look no further!
Bought 2 of these for my twin boys, 9 years old. Good quality built, sturdy and strong, great pneumatic tires and and ease of assembly, I and my boys rate this scooter 5 stars. Easily go from grass to light gravel, dirt to asphalt and concrete makes this a great all terrain scooter. With the nice big tires of air, no more will my boys have to worry about hitting a pebble.

Awesome scooter!
This is the second dirt scooter we have purchased. We had one for our son and our daughter wanted one in another colour also. My son’s is 5 years old and is still in perfect shape. All of their friends love this type of scooter, took less than a minute to assemble and fast delivery! Well worth the money, rides great on grass, rocks, etc.

Great for campsites and around on the roads and trails ...
My son loves this scooter. Great for campsites and around on the roads and trails near my house. Never worryied about little rocks jamming the wheels. It is strong and well built, however it doesn't collapse down. Hasn't been an issue for us though. All my kid's friends want to ride it too. So much fun!

Great scooter!
Strong build, easy assemble (just the handle bars) and the tires are awesome for local scoots... no more worrying about rocks or cracks that can make for sudden stops. It is heavier than the smaller foldable Razor scooters, but for kids going to the park, not an issue.

Cool scooter can go over gravel/grass
Great off road scooter - but it is heavy if you are looking for to do tricks.
