Scully Men's Rangewear Canvas Pant

Ordered to go with western costume or possibly just to wear with suspenders for a change of pace. I’m 6’ 2” with 32-33 waist. I ordered the 34” pants and they fit very well if slightly snug but definitely not uncomfortable. Fits very nicely all over. The legs are slightly long but with cowboy boots they are fine. At worst I may have them hemmed to have a crisper look but for a costume it is fine. As another reviewer mentioned, the rear tension belt clip is strange. It’s made to hold by friction. So far for me it works fine but don’t yet know how it will hold after wearing for extended period. If not, there are several ways this can be remedied yourself or by a seamstress so not a detractor. Material seems to be high quality, stitching and buttons are solid. I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice pair of canvas pants with a different look.

They have a great look for the 1870s style. Over all they are fantastic pants, the only gripe is I ordered the pants 1 size larger and I'm soo glad I did they were tight as heck on me. Length was great and thigh fot was great but the hip where the belt would be was dang tight, I wear a 34 mens pants normally and they fine but this brands 36 was like a 33 size. So if you are a 36 I would get a 40 for size and comfortable wearing. The black color I ordered came with a very not quite darker medium blue color with a tinge of green tinted. I was looking for some good, canvas pants to wear for with around the house or out in the woods. I wear my pants at the waist but most clothing companies making canvas or even heavy twill pants seem to cut their pants for a mid-rise. Anyway, these pants fit the bill. They have a high rise but not ridiculously so, just right for me. I found they fit true to size. I suspect the reviews saying they are tight are from folks who don't normally wear their pants at the waist, and their waists may be larger than their hips. The legs are straight cut, fit well, not tight but not baggy at all. I get a little bunching at the crotch, might be that I should size down but possibly this will vanish after a wash or two. Note that the pants come long, so know you will have to cut and hem to length (so far, I've just rolled them). You can do this yourself easily enough, or just go to an alterations seamstress/tailor, should be a cheap alteration. Construction looks good, but only time will tell. I think it will be fine. The only thing I would criticize is the use of riveted buttons. Personally, I'd prefer regular, sewn on buttons. In the case of the suspender buttons, I think they would look better. At the fly, I find the riveted buttons difficult to button up. Button-fly jeans come this way, with the riveted buttons. I think the canvas of these pants is thicker than typical denim, e.g. Levi's 501. Maybe that's why the Scully pants are more difficult to button. The button holes could be a mite larger than they are, too. Overall, I like these a lot. I'm sure they are good costume for reenactors. I'll be wearing mine as casual pants in place of denim or chinos. Update: After wearing in and softening up a bit, the buttons at the fly have gotten easier to work. I don't think that's a point for criticism anymore. Experience now reinforces that they fit true to size. I would not size up unless you plan on only wearing them with suspenders. Update 30JUL2021: The buckle on the backstrap broke today. Busted clean at two corners. Disappointed in that. I don't know who to contact for a replacement, but as I didn't care for the type of buckle anyway, I'm replacing with a sliding buckle. Other than this, the pants have been great.

Lets start with pros. These are everything I like about my favorite jeans but better. Its a nice heavy duty canvas, a lot like the outside of an old Carhartt, comfortable, great for work but they still look amazing. They come with mounts for suspenders, which is awesome not having to add those myself and the buttons feel really sturdy. The pockets are great, nothings falling out of those. The button fly is great, i am a sucker for button flys, way more breathable than zippers. Honestly these are just really breathable in general. The strap at the hip is great for the fit and the pants are loose enough to not hug your legs or crotch in uncomfortable ways which for me is a huge problem with pants. I have full range of motion in these before even breaking them in. Thats awesome For cons its mainly just me wishing the suspender mounts at the back were more widely spaced, like an inch or two more between them. Them being so close together does make the pants ride up your butt a little, but its not the worst and a lot of times is just a general problem with Y back suspenders. I also feel like there should be something to tuck the adjustable waist strap into so its not just sticking out all the time. Something that could be a con is that the legs run a little long, but these pants also seem designed to be tucked into boots. That being said the pant legs are probably going to extend past your ankle All in all these are quality pants and I will probably buy more at some point. Worth the money especially if you're someone who likes wearing suspenders.

These run extremely small. My boys can’t hardly get them in when ordering their exact size. I just ordered another pair that are two sizes up. We will see if those are better. Otherwise they look just like the picture and seem to be good quality

these pants are great! I've been doing art shows for years, but I just signed up my first one that required period style clothing for the artists. The pants are made of nice heavy canvas which will wear well for years. I normally wear a 32 waist and ordered the 34 as instructed on the page and suggested in other reviews. They fit perfectly with comfortable room for long johns for the fall shows. They also look really good. I would wear these anywhere. They are made long as is spelled out on the sale page and will have to be hemmed for length.. Not a big deal at all. Overall super good quality. I expect these will last the rest of my life doing shows as long as I don't gain a bunch of weight :) Again, Thank you, They are awesome!

Bought these as a gift for my husband. Bought a 36 even though he's a 34 because I figured if they ran small he'd be fine and if they were true to size they'd be fine with suspenders. They were super small. Closer to a 32. So I reached out to the company to see if they'd prefer I exchange them with them or through Amazon as some smaller companies prefer to do it themselves. Their email was very rude and they refused to do a return or exchange so I did it through Amazon and got the next size up. Only...the package I received was not a 38, it was like a 28 and 42 inches long. I don't even know who these pants are for...some 7 foot tall 12 year old?? I give up. I'm returning these pants and will be looking elsewhere. So disappointed. The pant quality is nice too which is frustrating. I would love to have these pants in the correct size but I don't want to keep sending them back

I'm a huge Levi 501 guy but I loved the first pair enough that I bought a second. I'm planning on just wearing these in the future. The loop on the back of my pair is not a triglide arrangement as shown in the picture. It actually has two prongs that are not quite sharp enough to really get a grip. Easy fix with a file. Length on the 38" waist is 36". Loop in the back makes it easy to forgo a belt or bracers which was the purpose originally. Plenty of room in the legs but not a lot in the hips and crotch. I'm 50+ and still have a butt so that doesn't bother me or the ladies in the least. Be aware this is canvas and like all canvas high points and depth of color will be light. Don't expect a deep dark black. Personally, I think it adds character. Made in India but the seems are strong, the zigzags at the edges of the material are well done and have some width. I'd put the sewing up there with my top line tailored suits. Definitely won't have a problem doing any kind of work in these. Still plenty nice for an evening out. Add a nice waistcoat and your good to take your lady out on the town and to a fancy dinner. My wife loves me in these.

This pair of trousers frayed away from the seem on the forth occasion of wareing them. The company failed to respond to my complaint. Don't buy from them.
