Used this set after Set 2 and it seems very EASY but good for reinforcement of skills
We love the Bob books and are following them in the order on the back of the box. This one comes after the Level 2 books but seems to be about the same as far as difficulty goes. We love the BOB books because they have more words that or son can decode independently than the readers that he is bringing home from school. He is in Kindergarten and has been able to sound out 3 letter words with short vowel sounds and knows about 100 sight words (the, is, like, what,...) and this set in particular has been great for reinforcing and practicing. There are a few 4 letter words with blended consonants and he is able to navigate them. The level 1 or level 2 readers that he gets at school and the ones we have bought from the school book sales are FULL of big, non-phonetic words. I guess they figure that kids can generally guess what the big words are by looking at the pictures. I don't like that, though, because it encourages guessing instead of decoding.... so we much prefer these BOB books. This one comes with some cards for changing a word by changing the first letter. They are nice enough, but my son has been able to do that for a while (we just used fridge magnets) so they were too easy.

Early learning
I bought this whole set to help my kindergartener with his reading. He already does a great job reading so this is just reinforcement. The size of the books are perfect for little hands. Definitely recommend for new readers or early readers

We love Bob Books!
These books are awesome! My son started reading these from the beginning set. I attribute his love of reading to these books. He reads them all over and over again too which is awesome. My 2 year old daughter has been following in his footsteps and also loves these books. Well written with very cute illustrations my kids love. They also have great customer service. You can email them directly on the Bob Books website and they respond very quickly. Great books from a great company!

Great tool
My son struggled with rhyming words in grade one and the beginning of grade two. After I purchased this kit and started practicing at home, he was able to understand rhyming and catch up to his classmates.

Good books
A good set of beginning reader type books but I prefer the read write inc set as it has a more systematic approach in helping kids (3-4 yo) with reading by phonics.

Excellent practice reading
My son was a voracious beginner reader and school dont give him enough practice reading so we’ve been buying anything we can. These are fairly cheap and tacky but we’re after quantity not quality. Now he’s developed enough to be reading the doctor Seuss books but these were a great little cheap and cheerful stepping stone to build his confidence and now his little brother can use them while he’s learning too.
