My son and I were able to swap out the battery on his switch after watching a quick video on the process. The included instructions for the battery were missing a few key details, but nothing you couldn't figure out without a bit of guessing. There was this mystery piece of plastic with double-sided tape or adhesion material but the shape didn't seem to match anything on the battery or bottom compartment. I'm sure it had a purpose but we never figured it out. One thing I wish this came with was the replacement foam. The stuff attached to the original battery ripped apart and looked terrible, but we made it work. Also, you definitely, definitely want to have a hair dryer or heat gun or else you'll tear up your Switch trying to free up the stock tape. We managed with using a space heater because I couldn't find my heat gun, but I don't recommend it. We put it all back together and it came right on. I didn't have a chance to rate the battery life but it had 40% on it out of the box and took charge just fine. Hoping that's the end of the frantic search for chargers when we're on road trips or trying to leave the house on time.

The replacement battery is top notch, all the tools feel good in the hands, it's easy to use. One thing of note is that you'll definitely need something to apply heat to the battery you're trying to take out of your switch like maybe a hair dryer or something. Other than that, this here is golden.

Have had my switch since day one, after the first two years I got this battery replacement and was a bit sketchy and came in bare minimum packaging. It lasted just as long as the oem battery and chugged on for 2 years before I noticed significant decrease in performance. I decided to just go with this seller again and so far packaging is a huge step up, the same can be said with the included tools and adhesive that comes with it. So far the new battery has lasted as a new switch battery should.

This is a great product for the cost. Considering the battery, and both needed screwdrivers are included, this is a great kit for cheap. Install SHOULD have been extremely easy. However due to how the switch was manufactured, the screws were over-tightened, one was stripped after just two twists of trying to remove, and the stock battery was glued in with a giant glob of glue. I had to drill out the stripped screw, then heat and pry on the battery for over 30 minutes before it came out (still had to forcefully remove it). So the process itself is very straightforward. But carrying it out, not so much. This does not reflect the quality of this product. But should be noted that install difficulty may vary from easy to medium at best. As far as the battery, it works as expected. However the battery life is just ‘okay’ in my opinion. I replaced the stock battery because I was only getting a couple of hours out of it, after a few years of use and sitting on the charger for long periods of time. This new battery is the same. I get a couple hours at best. So there wasn’t really much improvement.

Battery was easy to replace, and included tools are good quality, but the battery life is worse than the worn out OG battery I replaced it with! Looses 1% roughly every 2 minutes, I timed it!!!!

I have just received my kit today and decided to install it, here are my thoughts: Check the bottom an important update! Instructions The instructions are fairly clear, the images are very helpful but the order of each step is kind of off throwing so you have to really pay attention to the instructions. Almost had two incidents because the little instructions kept confusing me. Kit The kit is quite small, pretty useful and you can even put every piece in the package as you go so you don’t lose them Battery The battery itself seems to be defective, as every minute (not even) that passes drains one percentage (or even two) from the battery life! I had to change the original battery for this same issue, with the original Nintendo battery it would drain the whole battery in a matter of minutes, this one does the same but not as quickly. The battery came already 100% charged but in a matter of 20 minutes it’s already missing 20% of its battery life! [Update 10/13/2021] If you had the same issue as me, all you have to do is charge it and it will work just fine! I can now fully enjoy my switch and play with friends.

As the title says, installation was fine. Just keep track of the screws and watch an iFixit teardown guide. Due to the extremely strong adhesive Nintendo uses to attach the battery, the guitar pick pry tool is worthless. I used an old gift card on the side closest to the connector, shoving it in with some force, and lifted it out. Don't puncture the battery or try to use any tool that might. Battery life is about 2.5 hours in Animal Crossing at maximum brightness, which is as expected for a launch model switch. As an aside, if you experience high temps or loud fans, consider replacing the thermal paste with Thermalright/Arctic paste or Honeywell PTM-7950 (Linus sells it if you want to guarantee it is real). Replacement fans can be had for cheap on Ali Express.

The tools that came with it are really good quality. Magnetic screwdrivers and good spudgers. Everything you need to open up the switch. The battery is not great. Been trying to calibrate it for the last few days by charging to full and then playing until it sleeps. It discharges from 100% to 15% in like 10 minutes, then continues to show 1% for like an hour or so. Takes about 3-4 hours to charge and runs out of battery in 1.5 when not docked. I'm hesitant to take everything apart again though.

Oh these are actually awesome, it installed great but revealed my switch ia dead from a 2162-002 error. I will be looking for the chips I need to replace now. These batteries are awesome though,they look like they're even the exact same, the area where the nintendo logo was is whited out. Don't buy a nintendo battery please haha.

I only swapped it a week ago so I can’t speak to battery life. But the kit contained everything I needed to swap the batteries with relative ease. The instructions that I used were fairly easy to follow. The only thing I’d recommend is having a blow dryer handy. I used it for about 5 minutes to loosen the glue and the battery popped out fairly easy.

Super easy to replace with clear instructions. It gave my switch a new life, even after the warranty expired
