This notebook cover is very impressive. The leather is a very good quality. It has the right balance of soft and durable. The construction is sturdy and has very clean lines. The Field Book fits in it perfectly and gives it the extra structure for writing on. I’ve been carrying around various different notebooks and notepads for years. I really wish I had known about this a long time ago. This fits perfectly in my pocket and now is with me everywhere I go. I’m using it for more than just work. I’d like to further add that the NarwhalCo 3.35” pen fits nicely in the spine of this notebook cover. It is perfect actually. I’m glad that Amazon suggested it. Now no matter what, I have a notebook and pen on me at all times, never having to remember to grab one or wishing I had. I highly recommend this cover and notebooks with pen.

I love the look and feel of the leather. I have the field notes journals but I like to use this with my moleskin journals instead. It fits them perfectly and it’s really convenient to carry in my backpack for jotting down quick notes. The leather is soft and the stitching is immaculately done. I only wish they had this in a saddle/camel color to match my backpack, but this little journal cover is just fine. I will be purchasing another soon.

I didn’t realize at first that this is an official Field Notes product. I’m typically a fountain pen user, so I’m usually not big on Field Notes or Moleskine, but lately I’ve been using notebooks for things that make more sense in ballpoint pen or pencil. I’m still not very impressed with Field Notes, if just because each of these notebooks is very small. The notebook cover itself, though, is well constructed and can easily hold larger softcover notebooks. Despite being an official Field Notes product, it holds a soft cover pocket sized Moleskine notebook fairly well. You’ll want an elastic or tied closure of some sort if you use it with a larger notebook, I use a long strap I crocheted from some extra wool I have lying around.

The leather cover is of quality beyond my expectations and the eight field books will last me a long time. The only thing lacking is a loop to hold a pen on the inside. I carry an EDC organizer which has a pen loop so not a dealbreaker for me. It’s the perfect size to slip into your back pants or jacket pocket. If the lack of a pen loop isn’t an issue for you, you’ll love this! With a pen loop, I’d have given 5 stars.

I just received the note book a week ago. The leather cover was a bit stiff when I received however I manipulated it a bit and it softened. At first I thought the notebooks were a bit small however I have revised that thought. How often have you used up a entire notebook? I almost always have ended up having leftover pages and a lot of them by the time I stopped using them. I just wish they didn't have writing on the front and were blank. I have found I can keep a pen in the spine fine. Not much bulge and it is completely covered. Nothing poking out. I do wish it had come with a strap to hold it closed. I am using a rubber band at the moment. The note books are about $2 each when bought in groups. Not a bad price. I got 5 with the purchase.

I am a fan of Field notebooks as I like to carry them when I’m on the go, for jotting down ideas. I like Moleskines too and I carry those when I’m in a research mode, but for just everyday note jotting, the small Field notebooks are great and aren’t a burden to carry, weight-wise. This leather notebook cover provides protection for my Field notebooks and does so in a funky style that echoes the iconic design of all Field products. I carry a Field carpenter’s pencil in the notebook and I’m ready to write down anything that life throws at me.

Not real leather be warned other than that it’s decent but will be looking for real leather.

I am pleased with the product and the price! The leather is soft and finished beautifully. I use it to carry my favorite wire-bound planner booklets, and also use the field book to record notes and ideas. The price is 1/3 of what I would have paid for a leather cover from the planner company! It will fit in my sport coat inside breast pocket, or in the back pocket of my jeans. It’s not too bulky, so it’s comfortable to carry either place.
