Are the mits lined with a waterproof material or porous so your hands are always in the “sauce”?

These are great mits, but alas you will be sauced. I've got 32 years detailing experience & I've never come across a dry for your hand wash mit.

What is the GSM of the fabric?

It's difficult to say exactly. If I compare it to a known 350 gsm MF towel it would be 600 or better.
