Great for Lego or Marble track. Simple to use and very efficient when tidying up!

I bought this mat for an international flight I was taking with my 6 year-old and filled it with several Lego Mixel sets (the ones where if you buy three in the same colour, you can combine them to make a "max"). There was more than enough space in the cinched bag that I could have added several other similarly-sized sets. I pre-opened the Lego packages and sorted the sets into plastic zip-top bags to make them easy to open during the flight. This allowed my son three individual sets to build and then provided him with a variety of pieces he could use to build his own creations later. We found the bag to be slightly larger than the tray table on the airplane, plus my son was too far back from the table in his seat to reach it comfortably anyway. We just opened the Lay-n-Go bag up slightly in his lap and he happily built away with no issues. I have read a number of reviews where people feel the bag is too small to hold much of anything. I guess that really depends upon what you are hoping to carry, but if anything, I feel that it is deceptively larger than it looks. Capacity-wise, I would say that you could carry the equivalent of a very large grapefruit in it. It would easily fit the pieces of four to six of the smaller Lego sets which, if you plan accordingly, will provide your child with enough wheels, bricks, mini-figures, and other items to create for quite awhile. Any smaller toys like Hot Wheels cars, Polly Pockets, or even puzzles (we have purchased a couple of 50-piece puzzles in small tins at the dollar store) would work well. Also, as a point of reference, we have used this bag to contain the Plus-Plus 600-Piece Basic Assortment , which fit perfectly and gave two children access to the pieces when it was open on the floor. This bag is light, but sturdy. There is a velcro pocket on the inside to hold smaller items if desired. Open, there is a considerable play area which, if you leave the string every-so-slightly cinched, will provide a slight "lip" to keep smaller items contained within its borders. As I mentioned, the mat worked adequately well on the plane, but where it has really proved particularly useful for us has been in areas where we can make the most use of the bag as an actual playmat, such as on the bed of a hotel or cruise ship, the floor at Grandma's or a doctor's office, or on a table at a restaurant. The design makes it is easy to quickly cinch back up when the activity time is done. Highly recommend!

I got the large size I think I would have liked the medium better but my son has a lot of cars and the large is working out GREAT! Perfect for hot wheels and easy clean up…. Didn’t want to buy anything storage container or toy bin, I am very very happy with this purchase

This product creates an illusion of a boundary like nothing else, magically resulting in most of the LEGO staying within its circumference. For that alone, 4 stars. In terms of value, the item could easily be sold at half the price and still produce a decent profit. It's basically a ripstop nylon circle with a cord, basic, cheap, and functional. In terms of size, it is barely 60" all the way to the rim, and it will barely hold one large tote of LEGO (30 lbs or so). However, we use it as a designated play area and then dump the LEGO back into a tote when we're done, and dump the contents of a new tote on the circle. In other words, for storing LEGO it would only work for a small collection, but it does what I needed, it keeps the blocks in a designated area and makes them easier to clean up.

Good product

Prior to purchasing this, we were using the bucket-blanket system: Storing Legos in a bucket and pouring them out on a blanket when using them, and hopefully using the blanket to get them back into the bucket. The problem is, they always strayed beyond the blanket. This mat with pockets inside — we keep my daughter's lego people in them — makes the cleanup process so much easier. The mat is big enough that we don't have stray pieces everywhere. Granted, we don't have as big of a collection as many so we have plenty of build room on the mat itself. The cord closure is very long when cinched, so an adult needs to help with younger users, but it's simple step that I'm willing to take in order to save my feet from those pokey blocks. The thick handle makes moving the closed mat/bag easy. The mat is made of durable materials, and the solid color makes for a good background when searching for specific pieces.

A serious Master Builder might ask what makes this better than a big, clear bin (for storage) and a bed sheet (for quick clean-up). With the Lay-n-Go Lifestyle Activity Mat you get the best of both worlds: it's essentially a parachute-like blanket with embedded strings around the edge. Completely pull out the string and the contraption cinches up into a neat little knapsack. It even has straps so your Master Builder (in training) can lug his or her own blocks around (yes!). The inside has some Velcro-sealing pockets for isolating more important items: mini-figures, manuals, brick-poppers, etc. Yes, maybe the price does seem a little steep, but the manufacturer did not cheap out on construction and materials. We got the smaller sized bag and it works just fine for our kids. We've even had Legos laid out on a bed sheet, wadded the whole thing up, and stuffed it inside the activity mat along with all the other loose pieces already in there. Unless you have gotten to the point where your builder is indexing Legos in shelves and tackle boxes, this should reduce a lot of stress during clean-up and transport. I would highly recommend this to any parents of Lego builders.

Absolutely LOVE this Lego storage bag! We were gifted a large box of Lego duplos from cousins that outgrew them. My kids loved playing with them but storing them in a large cardboard box which would always inevitably get dumped EVERYWHERE was chaotic and resulted in the kids only playing with the Legos probably twice in a whole year. I wanted my kids to want to play with legos more and not have cleanup for me be misery so I started researching. I saw something similar to this at a library Lego event and loved it. This bag is pricy but I bit the bullet and bought the biggest size. WE LOVE IT! Not only is clean up a breeze and it makes all of the Lego pieces so much more accessible, but we have played with our legos at least 25 times in the last 3 months! Happy kids. Happy mom. Such a WISE investment. FYI, we can easily fit our large box (grocery store Apple box) of Lego duplos in the bag for storage. My one concern was that they wouldn’t all fit but they fit with room to spare!

Absolutely perfect, works exactly as advertised. I am able to pack all the Lego up in15 seconds and take it anywhere (camping, friends, work). My son cleans his Lego up no problem, just toss into the bag. Best product I have ever bought for Lego storage.
