Command Picture Hanging Strips Value Pack, 12 Pairs: 8-Medium, 4-Large Pairs, Decorate Damage-Free

I'm going to start this review by sharing with you the caution warning on the back of the box. DO NOT use with wallpaper. May not adhere to well to vinyl surfaces. DO NOT use for antiques, heirlooms, or other valuable or irreplaceable items. DO NOT hang items over beds. That really says it all, doesn't it? Don't hang anything of value and don't hang it in a place that will hurt if it falls on your head. These are easy to install and work great for collage-type projects, as you have the ability to place photos in an exact location. We have used them for things like smoke detectors, canvas art and smaller pictures. So far, they have worked well. It is very important that you follow the installation instructions. Be patient; make sure you wait the allotted 30 minutes before hanging your items. I usually wait longer, just to be on the safe side. The hanging strips come off cleanly and easily. Keep in mind when you are ordering these, the recommended usage for picture sizes are as follows: Small Strips: 1 set for a 3x5, 2 sets for a 5 x 7 and 4 sets for an 8 x 10. Medium Strips: 1 set for an 8 x 10, 2 sets for an 11 x 17 and 4 sets for an 18 x 20. I, personally, have never hung anything with only 1 strip; I've always used at least two. This package has 4 sets of small strips and 8 sets of medium strips. I'll let you do the math to figure out how much this will hang.

I'm motivated and serious amateur photographers who mostly shoot portrait for my kids and families. I also shoot landscapes while traveling so I do print lots of large size from 16-24in to 30-40inch and frames them in foam boards for wall hanging. Before I discover this product, I have to rely on nails and strings which are not only expensive, hard to make it right, very time consuming to install. But worst of all, my walls get damaged with nail holes and marks. After further research, I decide to get this product and instantly fell in love with it. I swear that I will never go back to nails again ever. Why it works is the fact that the Velcro is plenty strong to hold my photos in foam boards. For a photo of 20-30in, I am confident enough to use 4 medium strips to hold it strongly against the wall. Indeed, I've done 3-5 of them for over 3 months and none of the frames fall or even move since. I will recommend a large strip for a larger prints though. The cost is also cheap, the total 8 strips (4 pairs) costs ~$5 and more importantly, it takes me < 5min to install. No nails, tools or strings are needed. Best yet, the strip is easily removed without damage your wall. I simply follow the instruction to hold one non-stick end of the strip and pull it slowly along the wall, the strip magically got off the wall nicely without any trace. Tip: the best steps I learn to install the strip are below: 1) For every pair, face and stick the fabric sides (not the adhesive surface) together. Repeat this step for all pairs you would like to use for the frame. I use 4 pairs for each frame. 2) Lay down your frame with the picture side faces down, so the back side will face upward. 3) Line up in 4 pairs on the 4 corners of the back side, then start to remove the strip's paper which covers the adhesive surface and then stick it to the frame. Repeat this step for all pairs. 3) Remove the remaining adhesive side of the strips which you will stick to the wall. 4) Now, you can hold the frame up against the wall and ask a helper (friends, partner,etc) to stand behind and check for the alignments while you're adjusting the frame. Even without helper, you could apply the slight pressure so the sticky strip can stay against the wall while you step back to view it. Just BE CAREFUL when you do this as the frame can fall if it's too heavy. 5) Once you're ready, simply apply a bit of pressure to the corners where the strips are located and voila, your frame is beautifully place. Enjoy your photo!

We picked these up for putting up pictures in our rented apartment, as we didn't want to pay damage charges for driving nails through the walls. As another reviewer suggested, we waited overnight to hang the pictures. We used 2 medium sets for the 8X10 frames and one medium set for the 5X7s. We also got the small picture hanging strips (3M product 17202), and used one set for our 4X6, and 2 sets for some extra 5X7 frames. After a little less than a week, the pictures have held up, although i continue to place chairs with heavy cushions underneath the pictures! the process of putting the strips was fairly simple, although you do need 2 people for it to confirm that pictures aren't cross the first time around itself.it helps to make some basic pencil lines on the walls so you can snap the picture onto the wall when you mount the frames in the final step, as you can snap the velcro cross and it will still snap, but I'm sure the weight capacity will be reduced if the mesh is not 100%. This is a good value pack, I wasted my money on the smaller strips, as I got only 8 small strips (4 sets) for the same price. This set has 3 times more strips for the same price, and you can use just one set of the bigger strips to hang lighter frames, so you can hang more frames. Will report back if anything worthwhile happens (hopefully not!)in the future. UPDATE: We removed the strips when we moved to a new place after 5 months. The strips held up the photo frames without any problem till we removed them, and came off the wall without leaving any traces or taking any paint with them. The wall side of these strips are not reusable- they lost shape upon pulling off and didn't seem to be that adhesive too, so we bought another set for the new house. Too bad we'll need only half of the new set!

Opposed to what other reviewers are saying, I wouldn't hang anything too heavy or delicate. I would not expect this to hold a lot of weight, but it does do well holding low weight objects, 3 to 5 lbs. Product features: Essentially, each strip has two sides, one which is sticky (used to paste against wall), and the other with a spiky texture that is used to snap with another identical strip. Generally, the strips hold fairly well. Although the intention was for pictures, these strips are all-purpose. I've used them on wall organizers, several posters, and a bag organizer for the kitchen. This strips work well for an alternative to nails, screws, etc. that could do damage to your walls. Overall, these Command picture hanging strips are a good alternative and protects your walls. However, these aren't perfect and you should be careful how much weight you decide to attach to these strips.

These strips are exactly what I was looking for. I had a couple of cheap mirrors that are flat on the back, as in, there is no mechanism to hang them with. These strips are the perfect solution for that. I love the Velcro option. The Velcro holds strong to itself and the adhesive on the opposite side to the Velcro is durable. I only used 3 strips per mirror and they weigh about 5 lbs each. These strips are holding strong, without issues. These are a really great alternative to nailing a hole in the wall or for when the item that you need to hang doesn't have any other means of being hung, unless you installed something on the back to catch a nail or screw. They're very easy to use, very convenient to use and overall, just a really handy thing to have around. As I said, these are exactly what I was looking for. They met my expectations completely, and since this was a 12-pack, I have some leftover for the next time I get into this situation.

I'm a big fan of 3M's Command products and use their Picture Hangers in areas where nails or drilling holes isn't recommended. They were ideal for mounting the 3 long under-cabinet lights above the kitchen counter, and the most-recent use was installing small shelves for the gnomes to sit on above the living room curtains. Adhesive pads were provided to hang the latter but one look at the damaged wall when a user tried to remove the shelf hung w/them was all it took to find another method. As for pictures themselves, though, they aren't ideal unless you're very precise w/your measurements. Once you press the picture frame or whatever you're hanging against them and the strips lock into place there's no straightening or adjusting it 'just a tad' w/o a lot of bother. Note, though, that the strips do tend to dry out over time and for that reason removing them isn't always as easy as 3M would have you believe. So if you find it necessary to remove any of them pull down VERY SLOWLY and you should have no problem.

These hanging strips are amazing! I've hung lots of different items with them, from huge picture frames, to glass plates and i've never had a problem. I even hung up a big wooden sign with only 2 or 3 strips and it's stayed just fine for over a month now. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS! If your pictures and stuff are falling down, you either didn't use enough strips, didn't allow the proper amount of time to let the sticky settle, or you didn't mount it properly at all. The package give you a guide as to how many strips to use for how much weight. Just read the instructions and be smart about it. I don't really see the point of the small strips since I doubt it made this any cheaper, but whatever. I love not having to poke holes in the wall every time i want to hang something. I love these!

I've used these to hang several things with great success. They are easy to use and impressively able to hang a good amount of weight. I was excited at the idea of not having to make holes in the wall. However, two of the times I removed them, they took chunks of paint and plaster off the wall. It's very important to follow the instructions and pull on the stretchy tab during removal, or else it will DEFINITELY take paint off your wall. I'd say these are just okay. They are easy to use, but since they seem to remove paint in some instances they aren't really less damaging than nails or screws.

I really liked this product. My walls have a distemper and I was sceptical. but the product is good and able to take the load of my paintings. but please follow the instructions

didn’t expect it to work as well as it does, took a little bit for me to figure out but it’s holding up a pretty heavy mirror and it’s really sturdy against the wall
