What size filter cap is used?

Where are you placing the caps? Caps aren't necessary on the drive input as they load down the 0-5 volt switching of the microprocessor and the power input needs a regulated, stout power supply that is already well filtered.

The ad title says 30a but the description has a mix of 20a and 30a references. does this support 12/24vdc on the current detector side for < 30amp?

The 30A part is different from the 20A part. You will need to know which device you have to interpret the sensor output. I purchased the 30A parts. On the current detector side, it is a hall effect sensor, so it work with just about any voltage, AC or DC.

Is there a version of 20A or 30A that has terminals sized for ~10-14 Gauge wire?

I haven’t found any. I’m not happy with the terminals.

They can't handle anywhere close to 20 A. The chip itself is technically rated at 30 but it does not have proper heat dissipation built in.
