to clarfy a question already asked. i would like to mortice a piece that will be 6" tall, targeting a 2" deep mortise. will this machine work? max?

The way it comes from the box I don't believe it will mortise 6" stock. You can rotate the head 180 degrees to mortise larger stock but I have never done that with my machine. I think that it may be possible to install bushings (3/8" pipe nipples of sufficient length and longer bolts to attach column to base) between the column and base to raise the column enough to allow clearance for 6" stock.

what is the largest bit it can take?

Delta’s bits only go to 1/2” but you can buy other brands up to 1” but you will need to be able to make a shank adapter. Delta tries to make you purchase their bits by using a non standard sized shank.

Trying to have just one piece of equipment, Will this work as a drill press without the mortice bit?

I don't think it would be a very good drill press. First, the chuck is small, so you'll only be able to use small bits. You can buy table drill presses cheep.

can I buy this machine to 220v 50hz (EU pat.)

This mortiser is not available in 220 V.
