Incredible TV
Really great tv, it's huge, reasonable price, no dead pixels, no damage from shipping. It was shipped with giant foam corners with that clear plastic wrap holding them on, you could have dropped this box 6 feet and it wouldn't have done any damage. It was really great seeing that, not sure if the seller shipped it that way or if UPS did it, but I was really happy to see how well padded it was. I wall mounted it, and it looks glorious. I watched the blueray version of Prometheus yesterday, and wow, just amazing looking.

This TV is excellent, and BIG!
Bought this as an upgrade to my pitiful 32 inch TV. The image is crystal clear and very nice, because of the size, we had to purchase a new TV stand, and buyers, take note. The feet are very close to the outside of the television. So, unless you are mounting this thing, make sure your TV stand/Entertainment center is wide enough to handle it. Delivery was prompt, the package was undamaged and delivered without any problems. We had it up and running right away, batteries were provided for the remote, and while it is much larger, it isn't much heavier than my old 32 inch. After a few weeks of use, the TV is still performing as expected.

Good Stuff, not perfect, happy with it.
I don't want or need a "smart" TV, just a good sized screen and best picture for a reasonable price. I already have a 32 in in front of my face from my PC. This seems to fit the bill, time will tell. Many picture adjustments and filters in addition to about 11 presets; two of which are "expert". These expert adjustments are a bit out of my league and apparently require a digital color wheel to do right. My past HD's worked better after I tweeked the myriad of picture settings and filters, etc. I ended up resetting to factory on this model. I really couldn't improve on the presets. The standard setting really seems best for almost all applications. Some hockey arenas are better with the expert preset and turning the dynamic contrast on. I got mine from Amazon for about 750 after taxes(the tax thing blindsided me. Again, someone with more video tech knowledge than I could probably make this TV perform even better. I had a JVC HD 42 inch from 2009 that it replaced in my home office. It's obviously a significantly bigger screen than the 42 and a slightly? better picture. I still use the JVC as well. I've only had it 4 weeks so it's hard to judge. I think the picture is better than my older 42, but not dramatically. Again, the additional adjustments could perhaps make this a more dramatic upgrade. I am happy with it though, if nothing else for the size and the slightly better picture. It is not perfect, there are only 2 additional HDMI's; which is not a issue for myself. The stand is a two piece in which each "V" stand piece is near each respective corner. This means you need a extremely wide piece of furniture to sit it on if you don't hang. My corner tv stand(triangle wood type) is too narrow. Fortunately, I have 6 inch skirts/ledges that are 24 inches high around the room. The TV transverses these skirts in the corner and my triangle stand slides under the center of the TV without touching it. I would prefer this television had a center mounted elevated stand like some of the other LG models. The height listed includes these screwed on 3 inch corner stands and the narrow bezels. Therefore the screen is not as high vertically as I expected. I believe I need to figure out a way to elevate the television. It cannot be hung in the corner obviously without a lot of hard work that could not be easily changed back. Another slight issue is although it has the "true motion", I still get some blurs or what I call "heat waves" around moving or sometimes even stationary athletes. They are not very noticable, but I can see them. Again, it's not all the time; just certain circumstances. This TV is on sports over 90% of the time. I am picky, its a damn good tv, great color, good enough picture for myself. I've have my tech freak brother take the color wheel to it next time he's in town to see if I can improve on the factory presets with the two expert settings. Sound is clean with 20 watts. It is not as loud as I thought it would be. Music sounds good on the digital music channels but I really though it would blast a little louder. It will be loud enough for most. The speakers are rear facing, which I don't like and prehaps explain why it's not as loud as I would like. My old JVC sound is actually louder but not as clean. The sound adjustments are decent with equalizer options and surround. I have not hooked my computer up to it yet for music(my mp3 library with the audio input jack). This television DOES NOT HAVE A VGA INPUT so keep that in mind if you plan to have your PC video broadcasting to it. I am guessing many newer TV's don't anymore to sell the "dumb" TV's instead. If you like to occasionally listen to loud music on your TV, I would recommend the audiostandard mode(not music mode) with user adjustments on the equalizer. Turn the Clear Voice II "off"and the virtual Surround "on". Adjust the equalizer to a classic "V" pattern. Turn the auto volume "off". I have not been able to figure out if the auto volume "on" reduces the level of commercials. It definitely reduces the output of music or whatever you are watching/listening to. Leave the sound optimizer at "normal". Also remember if you have a digital box from your cable/satellite provider you must adjust your output out of the digital cable box. Stereo optimization and especially compression. Mine is on my box's home menu under box set up, then audio. Otherwise, your sound will be truly underwhelming and under-performing. Again, I am happy with it; just hope it is durable for the long term. I've never had a televison go bad on me going back to the 70's. I give them or throw them away before one has ever broke. I've never even had a tv's performance deteriorate on me over long years of usage. Lucky? I don't know. Hopefully that trend will continue.

nice 1080p budget set
My old 50" Panasonic plasma crapped out on me and repair would have been about the same cost as getting a new set. I chose this LG 55LF6000 and have no regrets so far. It's 5 inches bigger than my old TV, but occupies less space due to slimmer profile and thinner bezel. This TV is also very energy efficient. It took me about 5 minutes to mount it onto my TV stand and get it up and running. Set up was very straightforward. This is not a smart TV, there aren't internet apps or anything to monkey with. I have my PC hooked up to the TV as a second monitor, so I don't need a smart tv anyway. There are only 2 HDMI inputs, which may be a minus for some people. It works fine for me, as I only need 2 anyway. The sound and picture on this set are good for the price. Nothing mind blowing, but it's a nice set for the price. I don't think that this TV set is truly 120hz, but so far I haven't noticed much, if any, motion blur. If you're looking for an affordable, energy efficient, 1080p television and don't need smart apps, this is a good choice.

Great tv, for a great price!
Absolutely fantastic tv. Easy to set up (took about 10 minutes). I bought this one to upgrade a 42" Sony LCD that was about 10 years old. I must say that I am truly impressed with this tv. The price was right and it was the size I wanted (55"). The pictures are crisp and I couldn't be happier.

Minor Gripes, Great Picture
First off, nowhere on the item description does it mention the bezel being a silver/grey color. Next issue is the placements of jacks on the back of the set is right smack dab where my wall mount installs. So, I lose 1 HDMI, the component outputs (which I wouldn't use anyway but geez, c'mon) and I would have lost use of the Optical Audio out if I hadn't drilled a 3/8" hole through my wall mount to slip the jack thru and into the set. BUT, all that being said this TV has a gorgeous picture right out of the box. Cheaper than the TV it is replacing and far and away better picture.

Don't buy this TV. Not from here, at least.
How well does it TV? This is a horrible TV. The back-lighting is uneven, and leaves noticeable dark bands running vertically on the screen. There is also light bleed at the corners, and a patch of lighter area on one side. Trying to get decent color calibration is extremely difficult, and the contrast settings never seem to get anywhere comfortable. The refresh rate labeled is also worthless. There is a good amount of motion blur. The audio is no worse or better than any other TV. I compared the quality of the image to a mid-range TV (vizio e-series), a high-end computer monitor (wacom cintiq 22hd), and a dell inspiron laptop from 2012. It fell far short of all of these displays, and the vizio was the same price, with included smart features. Quality control: The unit arrived on its last legs. This was a brand new 2015 model. I noticed some odd horizontal banding, so I called LG to get the TV repaired. They referred me to a local TV retailer who determined that the T-con and main boards were damaged. During their test, the TV's power supply shorted out and caused the entire thing to go dark. It took a few days to exchange the broken parts for new ones (LG picked up that cost), and cost another $150 for labor ( I paid that). The poor quality of the display persists, but thanks to the repair I should be able to use this train wreck of a TV for some time. Verdict: I would hate to assume that everyone who purchased this TV got the same terrible product and still gave it 5 stars. It seems far more likely that I got a bad unit, and, thanks to small print, I am stuck with (after repairs) a nearly $800 piece of junk. I would not recommend buying this TV unless you are 100% sure that you can return a bad one. Buy from a TV store, if you can, and avoid Amazon and the convoluted multi-layer responsibility loopholes that sellers and manufacturers enjoy here.

I like that this TV is not a smart tv and so I got a good deal. I have Roku so I don't really need any smarts on my TV. The quality of the picture is good as long as you are connected via hdmi cable.

Picture is great, the only issue I had with the television is the lack of outputs. It does not have an audio out, so if you wish to hook up an amplifier or some other form of external audio, this is not possible.
