So satisfied for this wireless compact mouse!
If you are someone who wants to carry your laptop computer every single day, or if you are tired of being messy with some wires on your desk every single time, this Bluetooth mouse will be a great choice as complementary stuff! There are some positive characteristics of this Microsoft Bluetooth mouse for a personal recommendation. • Portability: When you get started to use this product, you would feel so comfortable to carry it. It might be the slimmest computer mouse what you have used ever, so you can save the space in your bag. In addition, it doesn’t have any additional USB port, so you will be good to set up for using it by just taking only the mouse if you make it paired with your laptop once. You would be guaranteed to enjoy your laptop with this lightweight mouse while you are traveling somewhere. • Material quality: The major surface of this product is made of plastic slightly coated with rubber type material which can prevent being slipped out of your hand. Also, the scroll wheel seems to be made of metal material which can give you a pretty cool sense of touch while you’re scrolling it. • Battery life: Basically, this mouse uses 2 AAA size of batteries, and the battery will last more than five or six months, even if you are a daily user of it. When the battery level is low, the mouse will notify you by turning on the light signal from the spot which is under the scroll wheel. Thereby, you don’t need to feel annoying to change the batteries frequently. You can also check out the remaining battery life through your laptop. • Connectibility: The Bluetooth function provides a quite perfect connection with your laptop. The connection will be always stable, and the response is very quick. Thus, you will be not feeling any uncomfortable because of its connection. • Overall Design: This compact mouse has a pretty slim design, but not too small and narrow width to grab it. The blue laser light on the back is pretty good tracking technology which enables you to use it on any surface. In addition, the battery cover is a kind of magnetic, so it is super easy to open it when you need to change the batteries. In conclusion, you will be so satisfied with its simple, but the strong quality of wireless mouse. Above all, it is the Microsoft company’s product which says everything about it. Don’t hesitate to get it!

Great product -- I should have bought sooner!
This mouse is awesome and easy to set up. I'm using it with a Surface Pro 3 and it had no issues syncing up. After the initial sync, it connects incredibly fast with just a press of the button on the bottom of the mouse. Very simple and works flawlessly so far after a few days of use. I wish the scrolling wheel were rubber lined rather than rigid plastic, which kind of looks cheap, but the scrolling works perfectly fine. Rubber just feels better on the finger. But, for the price, I'm not complaining. I got this mouse for the great price, how thin it is, and the Bluetooth connectivity--I hate having to use a USB hub to hook up my other mouse along with other USB devices. This mouse allows me to hook up directly to a peripheral device without whipping out the hub to plug two things in. This mouse is thin and it takes a little getting used to, but that took all of a few minutes. Clicking on this mouse is actually really nice too--very quiet. This mouse may look very simple and maybe even cheap, but it works and feels a lot better in person. I honestly wish I had bought this months, or even a year ago when I got my Surface Pro. I'm kicking myself for hesitating initially and using the 2.4 GHz wireless mouse. Bluetooth is the way to go. I'm curious to see how long the batteries last (batteries included btw).

Sleek slim profile Bluetooth mouse
This mouse is designed to be very basic in its function but it is also designed to look really good. If you're in the market for a basic mouse that looks really good and is "affordable" then this will do the job nicely. This was actually the reason why I personally got one. Prior to this I was using a big bulky gaming mouse even though I don't do much PC gaming. I was using it because it offered super low latency and fast response but that came at the expense of battery life....only offering about 2 days of usage before it needed the rechargeable battery to be swapped out. The gaming mouse also used a proprietary USB adapter which meant it used up one USB port on my PC. I finally decided to get a basic but nice looking wireless mouse that didn't need its own USB adapter. That's when I got this Designer mouse. Functionally it works great. It's lightweight low profile design is tangible making it great for both portable or desktop use. The scroll wheel has nice big knurling for nonslip operation even when your finger is greasy from food. The wheel is hard plastic with no soft coating so it's very easy to clean. It also offers clicking which brings up the onscreen autoscroll icon. The body of the mouse is matte black so no need to worry about fingerprints everywhere. It's also hard plastic with no soft coating so very easy to clean. The battery compartment holds two AAAs so it should last quite awhile before needing replacing. The compartment lid is pretty neat having a magnetic attachment so no more broken battery doors. I've been using this mouse on my bed/mattress and it works well, no tracking issues so far. Microsoft is releasing some very nice mice these days. I also purchased their Wedge Touch Mouse for touch usage.

Great Mouse For Portability and Design
Takes a little getting used to because of the flatness, but it's a nice-looking design, and it feels very well-made. Works great on random surfaces and easily portable in my bag. Doesn't take up much space due to how flat it is. I also find the magnetic battery cover to be pretty cool. I was worried about it coming off in my bag, but it hasn't posed a problem at all. Not the most ergonomic mouse, though. Pros: >Cool-looking design >Material feels nice >Solid construction >Works on lots of surfaces >Low-profile and portable Cons: >Not very ergonomic I absolutely recommend this mouse if you need something that is portable and you will not be using it all the time for an extended period of time. As a software developer, it's nice to have a portable mouse, and I'm mostly typing so my hand is not always on the mouse, so the ergonomic thing isn't a huge issue.

Perfect Mouse for my Surface Pro 4
I've been using this mouse with my Surface for six weeks now. It has worked flawlessly. I needed a mouse that wouldn't add a lot of bulk or weight to my bag, but it also needed to be reliable. The size and weight are great for traveling, but comfortable to use every day too. This mouse wakes up my Surface immediately and scrolls and clicks exactly the way I want it to. This morning the mouse didn't work even though the light was on. I changed the batteries and was back in business. I was wondering how long the batteries would last. For the first two weeks that I had it I believed the reviews that said that it will turn off automatically. It always seemed to be on though. So I started turning it off with the little round button on the back under the blue light. It will be interesting to see if this set of batteries will last longer now that I turn it off manually when not in use..

Great mouse, worked great for a while
UPDATE: Less than 2 months in the scroll wheel stopped working (rolls forward but not back)...disappointing. Maybe I just got a lemon. I have been through many Microsoft mice through the years and this is the first that failed mechanically in a short life span. ORIGINAL: Great bluetooth mouse! Opened the package, inserted the batteries, went to the Bluetooth Settings panel (Windows 10), selected the "Designer Bluetooth Mouse", initiated the pairing and it was off and running. The mouse seems to work better (although the criteria escapes me) than my old Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse (Notebook 5000), but to be fair my old mouse is several years old and I am sure back from the early days of Bluetooth. BTW other reviewers stated (as does the packaging) that Bluetooth 4.0 or higher is needed. I found this website that gave me the info to determine the version of Bluetooth I have: [...] The new form factor feels really different, but is definitely workable for me. While the form factor doesn't feel the same in my hand, I appreciate that it will take less room in my laptop bag. I don't personally care for the "clicking" wheel like other Microsoft mouses I have used, but I can work with it. The "buttons" are not visible, but give a solid tactile click when used. I like the minimalist approach to the design. Simple black on black color palette (if it would qualify as a palette). Only the controls I actually use (no gimicky extra controls). Though the years, Microsoft wireless mouses have been far superior to other brands I have tried (fewest problems, durability and solid compatibility). I have great expectations for this one also.

Travel bluetooth mouse with issues - DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED based on actual experience!
This is a great travel/portable bluetooth mouse for your laptop. It is well built and very understated in design, basically very slim, about 3/4th of a full-size mouse, ambidextrous, and plain in design(“Microsoft” logo is very subtle as well). This mouse could pass off as any no-name brand out there, but it doesn’t look cheap at all as there are no sharp edges around the mouse buttons. I like the somewhat flat shape as it feels more comfortable for my longer fingers and it fits in a small slot on my backpack easily without the usual bulge of my other Logitech travel mouse. It feels good in the hand and tracks very smoothly on virtually any surface, no mouse pad needed! The scroll wheel feels solid and seems built to last. I like the left/right mouse clicks as they feel good and the noise is somewhat subdued compared to my old logitech mouse. The bluetooth pairing was effortless and the signal seems strong and consistent as there never seems to be any hesitation while scrolling. I can’t attest to battery life yet as I’ve just recently started using it, but I don’t have any doubts that it will last as stated.I would have liked a little more design/trim in the mouse, but by no means does this detract from the Designer series mouse as being highly recommended! June 2016 - The mouse works so far if it connects to my laptop, which has been an issue with the Broadcom Bluetooth driver on the laptop. Sometimes it connects just fine, other times it doesn't connect at all and I just have to go through the pairing process again. Also, I've gotten the BSOD at times, usually when the screen goes off or the laptop goes into sleep mode. I've updated and rolled-back the driver in device manager as well as some other options mentioned online, but it still happens, thus I'm using the mouse less. I think its more of an issue with my laptop's Bluetooth driver. The other thing I'm noticing that is after 2 1/2 months of light use, the left and the right mouse buttons are sticking and not clickable. I would literally need to pry it open to get it clicking again. I believe its due to the overall design of the slim mouse and the fact that the buttons don't travel much in the first place. I've had other cheaper no-name mice of the same slim design that has not exhibited this trait and do not expect a product from microsoft to be inferior in it's build quality. I don't think the issue will improve over time and It's a matter of time before it stops clicking and working in general. Once it does, I will go back to Logitech as I know their mice are reliable and built to last. I have lowered my rating to 2-stars and don't really recommend this mouse unless you happen to be one of the lucky ones to get a well-built and reliable mouse. July 2016 - So the mouse is pretty much useless now as the buttons stick constantly and always require "unsticking." I guess this mouse overall is terrible in build quality and design afterall. I definitely would not use microsoft mice again and have gone back to my trusty wireless(non-bluetooth) Logitech mouse which just works flawlessly. The microsoft designer mouse is probably one of my worst purchases and regrets on Amazon!

When I received this mouse i thought that i would me unboxing an affordable mouse with quality to match the price but i was shoc
After looking a while for a decent bluetooth mouse and refusing to pay that ridiculous amount for an apple magic mouse I found this mouse. When I received this mouse i thought that i would me unboxing an affordable mouse with quality to match the price but i was shocked with the build quality it feels like a more expensive mouse very elegant and modern. Things i loved about this mouse: 1- connectivity: this mouse connected to my macbook pro very easily and does not lag or loose connection as much as other bluetooth accessories. 2- battery: i loved the fact that this mouse uses 2 aa batteries opposed to a built in battery and the battery you insert will last you more than six months. The reason i favor the aa batteries over the built in rechargeable batteries is that with built in batteries adter a while these batteries will have a decreased life and after they are obselete the device will no longer be of use while the aa batteries can just be replaced. 3- surface: this nifty little mouse will work almost on any surface including glass due to it's blue track technology. 4. Build quality and size : it looks like Microsoft built this mouse to last and to be elegant. The scroller is made of steel, and it is sized perfectly making it suited for portable devices and desktop computers. Conclusion: if you are looking a bluetooth mouse that works great and has an even greater price tag look no further just get this one. I might get a secong one for my desktop pc or i even might give their other bluetooth mouse the sculpt comfort mouse a try.
