Very nice speaker
I listened to many speakers. Some cost three times as much as the v-type, there is no reason for me to spend anymore than the 93$ I paid for this speaker. I put it in a 2 x 12 seismic Luke C sealed (i bought here on amazon) cabinet with a seventy 80 that I bought used for 35$ and they work great together. I have a Fender Super Champ SC112 80-watt 1x12" cabinet that came with a celestion seventy 80. It was way too bright for me. I play Epiphone Les paul and SG for the warm sound. But this speaker was way too bright as it was. But once I paired it with the V-type in the seismic cabinet, I was really impressed. Perfect sound for my ears. V-type plus a seventy 80 in a seismic 2 x 12 for for just over $300 I got the perfect cabinet for me.

Sound great, great price
I have a Marshall Origin 2x12 cab that came with Celestion 70/80s. The 70/80s were a bit harsh and brittle for my liking, and I saw some videos of these v-type speakers and decided to give them a try. First, I a/b'd a single 70/80 against this speaker, and the v-type sounded fuller and just all around better. Like, really good tone for both cleans and gain. I ended up keeping one 70/80 and one v-type in the cab, and think they complement each other well. I'm blown away by the quality of sound these speakers provide, especially for the price, and certainly worth trying to improve your tone before shelling out crazy $$ for creambacks, alnico blue or gold, etc. Highly recommend. 👍

What a gem of a speaker
It is a greenback and a v30 combined in the best ways possible. It's got girth, it can soar for leads, but it cleans up to be chimey yet warm. and for this price??? It's ridiculous. It is one of Celestion's best speakers. I got this speaker because I play both English and American amps, and the Greenback blood in this makes it compatible with almost anything. Get it. you won't be disappointed.

Definitely recommend this speaker
I put this in a Marshall dsl40c. It came with a Creamback in it, but it sounded just a tad bit heavy in the lower frequencies. I have a fender 68drri that came with the v-type, so I plugged the Marshall into it just to see what it would sound like. It was perfect! These speakers are less expensive, probably because of the lighter weight magnet, but they might just be my favorite speaker ever. I made an extension cab for the Creamback and they sound like they were made for each other.

Great upgrade for guitar amps at a great price point.
I added this to a Marshall DSL40C. The difference between this and the stock speaker is amazing. Harsh ice pick highs and tubby flubby bass are now gone. I debated which speaker to upgrade with for awhile and I am very happy with the V-Type as my final choice. For the price point Marshall should just start putting this speaker in as stock on all new amps because it is that good.

A highly recommended speaker
Great sounding speaker, not harsh or brittle. I like it much better than the Vintage 30's I have used in the past. I would call it a hybrid between a vintage 30 and a greenback. Nice tone, true to the amp. Highly recommended.

The CELESTION V-Type 12-inch 70 Watt speaker is great in either 16 Ohm or 8 Ohm version
The CELESTION V-Type 12-inch 70 Watt speaker is great in either 16 Ohm or 8 Ohm version. (I own both.) They sound perfect. Enough bass and treble without sounding harsh in any way. This CELESTION model is stock in FENDER Deluxe Reverb Custom and PRS Sonzera 20s. The only speaker that beats it was the long discontinued JBL E120s, and those were designed for 100 Watt amps. There are a lot of different speakers out there. Many are good. The CELESTION V-Types are the best, in my opinion.

All tone Access
Best speaker I have ever used haves played, EV SROs, JBL D-120s this Celestion is well balanced and let’s me hear how my guitars “sound”. The term Woody comes to mind, great definition, clarity, articulation.full, warm, let’s all the tone controls on the amp work. Did I mention they can really rock also, fusion, Jazz, can take any guitar you got! Will show you your rigs weaknesses!
