Terrific Item
Recently purchasing the 12V version of this light organ and realizing i was slightly over my head as a part time hobbyist, I posted a question regarding setup, The seller answered my question promptly, allowing me to complete the project. The light organ works wonderfully. Lots of fine tuning to different types of music, Easy enough to place "markers" for setup. Great quality boards and the instructions are geared for people like me who have base knowledge of electronics. this weekends project is the AC version here, i will post videos after completion. Halloween can't come fast enough HAHA

Excellent
Instructions included with the kit were great, easy to follow. All the parts were packaged in assembly stages. The circuit board has all of the parts labeled for easy location. Support by Xkitz is great. Do yourself a favor and READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE STARTING. If you do, you will have no difficulty at all. You will need a low wattage soldering iron with a fine point tip (I used a chisel tip). I only had one minor problem which was of my own making. If you purchase the front control panel option there is a 34 pin connector that uses Surface Mount Technology as opposed to pins that go through the board. I had a cold solder joint on mine that took me quite awhile to find and cure. Absolutely not a problem with the kit, just my own mistake. After I found the problem the Color Organ and Control Panel took off and worked great. I plan to buy another one to play with. My neighbor was over this afternoon when I got it running and was totally impressed and wants me to build one for him.

Excellent kit, haven't built it yet.
Arrived early and well packaged. All parts in good condition and instructions are clear. Haven't assembled yet, but is exactly the compact size and quality I expected.

Great kit!
Very impressed with this kit. It took a little longer than a 4 hour assembly, but it worked at initial start up. Thorough instructions included. Components organized and packaged conveniently for assembly. The unit works as described, if not better. Used a thin rosin based solder and pencil tip soldering iron. Looking forward to other kits.

It's really not that bad, but this kit
It's really not that bad, but this kit, like all the other being sold recently are about using the fewest number of components. They use only single pole cut off, They have no PWM, as a result they use hair trigger circuits that have no intensity modulation. The only modulation is from the 60Hz beating against the incoming frequency/cross talk/intermodulation. They make a good light show and are somewhat frequency selective. I'm redesigning a board with standard, peak holding and Ramp generator with PWM modulation for Linear/Non-Linear(compression). Perhaps Xkits would be interested in a classical Color Organ design. I haven't designed a new Color Organ in over 30 years, but I still have all my schematics.

Fun
I can't remember having so much modeling fun! Parts were all packed nicely and in numbered bags. The color organ worked perfectly. Ordered to sync Christmas lights on our tree. Great job Xkitz.

Nice color organ
I remember having a light organ as a teenager and enjoying it. I also enjoy building things so this seemed like a good kit to build. If you have basic electrical knowledge this is a fairly simple build but it is time consuming to solder and find a project box to put it in. I am very happy with the result and my teenage son really thinks it is a good item. We listened to his music and he really enjoyed it. I have added a photo of the inside of the project box, I am not completely finished with it, but it is set up and working.
