Bible Workbook Volume 1 Old Testament (Volume 1)

Excellent bible study aid. I am reading through the Bible currently on my own at home and as I begin my journey, was a little concerned about if I would have the proper resources and aides to help me not just read but actually comprehend/understand everything there was to digest. Just preparing to begin, I came across so much information i was never aware of, for instance the books of the Bible being divided up into sections like history or poetry, who the minor prophets were compared to the major, that you could read it in book order or chose to read it in chronological order, etc. I stumbled across verse mapping on Pinterest, different ways to study the Bible like the S.O.A.P. method, and tons of different study guides, workbooks, study bibles, so on and so forth. I chose to order this workbook aside a few other resources for several reasons. I liked that it included maps, using visual aides to help you make order of things in your mind. I like that it has a companion workbook for when I get to the new testament. The price was unbearable. It is, in my opinion, the perfect size- it doesn't just glaze over the old testament making it too short, but also doesn't dive into every possible topic deeply making it overwhelmingly too long. It has already been a huge help as i started my reading this weekend. It doesn't just ask questions but also provides information and explanations, breaking down harder to understand topics. It gives you key verses to memorize, and connects certain themes throughout the Bible by giving you verses to look up throughout the old and new testaments. This workbook goes in chronological order- meaning it doesn't go through the books of the old testament in the order they are in the Bible, but by the order in which events actually happened. So instead of going from Genesis to Exodus, Genesis is followed by Job, then returns to Exodus. It provides a variety of written exercises- fill in the blanks, essays, open ended questions, matching exercises, map interactions, etc. It could definitely be used in a Bible study group or a classroom, as well as by an individual like myself studying on their own. Note: there is no answer key so you can't check your answers. But I've found that a quick search on Google answers any questions you may be unsure of and want to double check you got correct. Most exercises are to check your understanding and interpretation of the Bible, while others are suggestions of exercises to practice to dive even deeper like verses you should memorize, points you should be able to find on a map, letters to write to God, examples of ways to apply what you've learned to your own everyday life. I personally love this workbook and everything it has to offer. It definitely has helped me develop a better understanding of God's word and helped me to remember everything I've read by doing the written exercises. I would strongly recommend it to anyone wanting an aide to assist them with their Bible study!

Easy to understand and follow

Need to adjust your thinking on this workbook as it is different from others I’ve tried. But the more I’ve gotten into it, the better I’m liking it.

Even though this was not intended for personal use I personally use vol 1 & 2 to quiz myself as I read my bible. I wanted something to challenge me and help me retain what I read, both books gave me that and more!! I wasted money on all the other misleading books claiming to be study guides, their “questions” made me feel like I got scammed, NOTHING compares to this! Sorry to be harsh but I want to help others not go thru what I went thru hunting for the REAL deal. Please don’t get scammed by the other overrated books, if you’re serious about studying the Bible, I promise you won’t regret buying vol 1 and vol 2.

Haven't used the workbooks as yet. however based on what I have seen as I looked through I believe they will be valuable studies to assist me when I study the Bible.

I had been looking for the right bible workbook for over a month and I couldn’t find the one that was right for me, I ordered a “Bible Study Tracker” that upon arrival ended up being more of a s.o.a.p (scripture, observation, application, prayer) journal and wasn’t what I wanted, this one however was recommended to me by a lady in my bible journaling group, I only paid like $5.99 before tax and the original price was listed at $9.99 so any time I feel like I got a deal I’m happy. It’s very involved which was exactly what I needed, it asks questions that make you have to think, it has maps and scripture, there are weekly activities like “writing a news article or letter or story about the flood of Noah’s time” or something like that and I think that’s so neat! There’s also a New Testament version that goes with it, I’m going to go ahead and get it ordered so it’ll be here when I need it, I figure I’ll be busy with this one for a little while though, I’m so excited to get started on it. It’s larger in size and reminds me of the workbooks we used in school, it has holes so you can add it to a binder if you want, it arrived in perfect condition and its one of the better purchases I’ve made lately besides my new bible…personally I’m going to say 5 out of 5 stars and I’m sure I’ll probably say the same for the New Testament workbook, too.

I had bought this work book to help my son get through his theology homework and this book is advanced. Alot of work has been put into this books and its definitely worthwhile while reading and reviewing the bible. I ended up using it myself.
