The authorized tie-in to the popular TV show Criminal Minds Featuring stunning photos from the CBS series, Criminal Minds: Sociopaths, Serial Killers, and Other Deviants will give you new terrifying and fascinating insights into the mind of a criminal. Most episodes of CBS's Criminal Minds series feature a briefing where the profiling team defines the type of criminal they are looking for by examining behavior patterns that were established in actual criminal cases. Now author Jeff Mariotte takes us deeper into the BAU process by revealing the evil behind some of the most heinous murderers, sexual predators, and psychopaths in history. In this authorized companion to the hit TV series, you'll learn how real-life criminals committed their unspeakable crimes and follow the investigators who finally tracked them down. Mariotte explains why and how profilers organize major offenders into types and why each of these perpetrators falls into a particular category. You'll get the stories behind: Solo serial killers, such as David Berkowitz, Zodiac, and Henry Lee Lucas Sexual predators who preyed on women and girls, such as Dennis Rader and Gary Ridgway, and those who preyed on men and boys, such as John Wayne Gacy Killers with famous victims, such as John Hinckley, Robert John Bardo, and Mark David Chapman Cannibals and vampirists, such as Jeffrey Dahmer Traveling killers, such as Ted Bundy Female killers, such as Aileen Wuornos Family annihilators, such as John List, Mark Barton, and the Menendez brothers And many more Review: LOVE CRIMINAL MINDS - Fast shipping, good quality plus there isn't really anything bad I can say about the best series EVER! If you like reading about serial killers, you'll like this book.
This book doesn't really talk a lot about the actual show, just says how some of the fictional criminals in the show are based off real life serial killers, and then explains the real life serial killer in more detail. So I don't recommend this book if you're wanting to read strictly about the show. It talked about all different kinds of crimes and all types of criminals. Rape, kidnap, torture, cannibalism, arsenals, bombers, taking hostages, etc. It didn't just talk about adult killers either, but also child killers. It gives details of the crimes which are often very sickening, but sometimes when reading about their lives, especially if their childhood is mentioned, its hard not to feel sympathetic. The only thing that disappointed me was that I found out that the BAU team in Criminal Minds is way more badass than real life FBI agents. I guess I should of figured that, though. If you like reading about criminals/serial killers, then you should definitely check out this book.

Interesting book, a lot of background information
I stumbled across this ebook because of the show criminal minds. I thought the idea of knowing more about all the serial killers in the show would be funny and interesting. After reading it I can say: we truly live in a disgusting world! But aside from that, I had hoped that there would be more reference to the show itself, maybe a real profiling of the serial killers in it. This book mostly just mentions that the BAU take serial killer X as an example for something and then the reference to the show is done. It explains a lot about the life of the offender and how many people he killed in which ways, but there isn't really that much about the show. Every now and then you'll see a picture taken from the show, mainly showing the team. I gave it 4 stars because the book itself is quite informative and interesting though most of the time you'll be disgusted by all the al cases.

Great Read!!!
I really liked this book, except for the very last chapter that describes what real profilers actually do. If you like the show, don't read the very last chapter; it will spoil the show. The writer was great with the details of the killers and very respectful to the reader (there is a chapter about children that are murdered and the author does NOT go into the detail of their deaths. I found that comforting because I didn't want to know what happened to children). I suggest reading it if you like the show OR if you want a non-fiction about serial killers.

Amazing, wish it was longer
If you like criminal minds the show, you will love this book. It's very informative, but not in a dry textbook way. When reading some of the crazy horrible parts I had to read over it more than once, because I just could not believe someone could be so evil or get joy out of what they were doing. I have always been very interested in serial killers because there is something inside that wants to figure out how they think and what drove them to killing. So give this book a try, I think you will enjoy it if its an interesting subject for you.
