La Crosse Technology WT-3102S Atomic Analog Wall Clock, 10", Silver

I spent a considerable amount of time looking for a 10 - 12" clock to mount on the wall of my newly renovated kitchen, and discovered the LaCrosse Technology line of "atomic" wall clocks. I was particularly searching for a lightweight clock that could be supported by a large PVC suction cup that would not require drilling into the kitchen's brand new subway tile backsplash and walls. After reading tons of reviews and examining many black and white and silver colored clocks that would work well with my predominantly black & white kitchen color scheme (with stainless steel appliances), I selected the silver version of the LaCrosse atomic clock. I read the set-up instructions when I received the clock which indicated it could take up to five nights for the clock to automatically set itself, so I instead tried to immediately set the clock manually. After several attempts at trying a manual set-up and failing, I visited the La Crosse website. There I learned that the clock can't be manually set until it has been exposed to the automatic radio signal from Colorado for up to as long as five nights. So I leaned the clock on my living room window facing north (I live in New York City), and within five hours it had successfully picked up the Colorado signal and set itself to the correct Eastern Standard time. I compared the clock's time to the Emerald Sequoia Time App on my iPhone, and amazingly, it was dead-on accurate to the second. I then attached a large 1.8" suction cup to the wall tile and inserted the suction cup's holder nub into the back of the 3.2 ounce clock, and it's held in place for the past three days... plus the clock has maintained its to-the-second accuracy for the entire period. It's actually more accurate than my $10,000 "officially certified superlative chronometer" Rolex. I highly recommend this simple yet elegant wall clock which in my opinion -- at $20 -- epresents an excellent value for the money.

This clock is magical! How it gets the cesium-adjusted signal over a microwave carrier wave all the way from fort Collins, Colorado to my house in New Mexico (500 miles) passing through buildings and moving cars as if they weren't there, is nothing short of a miracle. I bought this one on 18 May 2023, and it has performed flawlessly ever since. I highly recommend it and the second miracle is how they can design such a sophisticated electronic instrument assemble it, ship it all the way from China, and deliver it to your door for such a very low price. Good clock. The atomic synchronization feature really works. However you may need some patience and the instructions at first. I bought this clock as a Warehouse deal. The black ring on the face was a little scuffed, probably from chafing while in transit. There were no instructions. However the instructions are easily found online. Just search for the model number. The clock needs one AA battery (not included). That battery may be enough for two years of operation. LaCrosse recommends battery replacement every 24 months. As soon as you install the battery the clock seeks a time signal from Fort Collins, Colorado. The hands start to rotate. If the clock does catch the time signal then it will set itself to the second. This clock exactly matched my cell phone, to the second. Nice. However, it did not synch with the time signal on the first try. The directions note that time signals have the least interference at night. Placing the clock in a window with the back facing toward Colorado helps. LaCrosse notes that it may take up to five days for the clock to get a clear time signal due to weather or other interference. Or, the signal could be blocked by things such as thick walls in a building or a metal roof. If it cannot catch a time signal there is an option for setting manually. The clock has settings for your time zone (Pacific, Mountain, Central or Eastern) and for Daylight Savings Time (on, or off). This means that it will work fine in a state without Daylight Savings Time, such as Arizona. With just the four options for time zones, the atomic feature of the clock is unusable in Hawaii, Alaska, or eastern Canada. In any case it meets my needs for a clock in my workshop in Massachusetts. For me, five stars.

I have 3 of these clocks (2 are 10 inches and one is 14 inches), I love the fact that I don’t have to set the time, just put in the battery, wait for the clock to get the signal and enjoy. Just an FYI, one of the clocks take 3 days to set itself, the others set themselves within a few minutes. I have switched them around wondering if it’s just an area with poor reception, but one of the clocks just takes 3 days to get the signal and display the correct time. There is nothing wrong with the clock, it’s just slow to connect to the atomic clock signal. Other than that one quirk, I love having all my clocks display the exact same time right down to the second. I highly recommend these clocks. *UPDATE* My clock that didn’t get the signal is defective :( I called customer support and explained the problem and all the troubleshooting I did (change the battery and put the clock in an upstairs window facing west). She said the radio antenna may be defective, so they sent me a new clock :) La Crosse customer service is excellent, the staff friendly and courteous. The new clock got a signal within less than an hour and is working like a champ, again, I cannot recommend these clock enough. I plan on getting a fourth clock for my children’s bedroom.

MAR 2025 UPDATE: The radio setting has never worked once in all the time I've had this clock. Still, it does keep time well and looks attractive. I do recommend the clock if you're willing to set the time manually -- but note that "falling back" from daylight savings will be tedious as you wait for it to advance through 11 hours of time. I can't recommend this if you are buying it for the automatic set function. I like this clock. It looks super great and seems to work well. Except one thing -- the auto set feature did not work. I gave it a couple days but it seems like it never acquired a signal. Mind you, this wasn't some room buried deep in the house -- it was in the bathroom with an exterior wall and window. Some are saying you need to hang it a certain way to get it to set -- but that's not a great solution. That means you aren't going to get the time sync and timezone change features of the WWV radio signal when it's finally moved to where you want it. My recommendation is: it's a good clock. Set it manually and hang it. If the auto-set feature works for you then fine, but don't assume it will work right. Maybe someday they'll do a version with a better antenna or RF amp so the auto-set function works well. At the very least, it would be nice if they added an LED to indicate whether or not it has acquired the WWV signal.

I am retired and having this clock in every room helps me be aware of the time passing. The silver and black look great on my walls and with my furniture. I even have one that I can see from the shower. It simply makes life easier if you don't have to pull all your clocks off the wall in order to reset the time two times a year. I feel that an actual clock face is less abstract than a digital clock and is more helpful to me. UPDATE: I ordered a third one of these in April, 2026. I tried for days, moving its location, changing the battery, etc. It would not sync with the atomic clock, and since that was the purpose of this clock (replacing a clock that I had to take off the wall and use a ladder to change the time), it is being returned. I ordered another--I am hopeful the replacement will work, and I really appreciate this clock. I will update in a few weeks when I receive the new one and give it a chance to sync. Shipping is slow to get these clocks.

Precise to the second, glad I ordered this, 10 inch fits in my kitchen perfectly and very elegant.

So far so good. I was absolutely convinced it would not work properly here. I have an ancient LaCrosse LCD weather station thing (that I love and still works) with atomic time that only syncs about 1/3 of the year. I also have an expensive Casio Wave Ceptor atomic watch that, similarly, can't sync unless I have it in a few certainly places in the house. This clock is not one of those places- an inside bathroom with no windows and on an interior, insulated wall. I am on the mid east coast on the water, and according to all the maps, is one of the worst places for Bolder Co signal to reach (why is it 2013 and there are still no other options for syncing clocks? FM radio, cell signals, TV signals... it is silly there is nothing available that is MUCH stronger and works anywhere inside any kind of building). But this clock? I put in the battery and hung it on the wall at about 8pm, it swept around and stopped. When I went back in the room at 11:30pm, it was magically synced and ticking away and has been for a few weeks now. It is easy to use, easy to read, and doesn't tick loudly. If it gives me several years of service like this, I will be very happy. Can't beat the price. I do wish they had some more designs in their lineup. If it keeps working well, I am probably going to buy some additional units. It is interesting that the minute hand moves in 10 second increments. Most clocks I have seen either move the minute hand in one second or 15 second increments. Probably doesn't matter, just thought I would share that unusual tidbit. One thing- it doesn't sit flush against the wall as you might think it does from the stock photo, since the clock "brain" and battery box is in the back.

This does not work in Australia and the manual set is WAY to had to set accurately.

Este reloj tiene conexión automática con el reloj atómico de Colorado; en mi caso no logré que se conectara automáticamente con el mismo, por lo que lo tuve que sincronizar manualmente y hasta la fecha casi un mes, esta muy exacto y sin problema alguno. En teoría una vez sincronizada la maquinaria, solo se ajusta; tienes que seleccionar tu zona del tiempo y trae un interruptor para activar-desactivar el horario de verano donde en algunos países no se aplica, por ejemplo la Ciudad de México.

Nice looking clock but does not auto set for countries outside of the US. As such a bit pointless for UK market.

Relógio muito bom, não precisa ficar acertando as hrs, ele se ajusta automaticamente, inserir pilhas de boa qualidade, eu tinha um outro e tinha que ficar trocando e ajustando sempre, e este não precisa fazer estes procedimentos, sómente quando acabar a energia das pilhas, ótimo produto .

I bought this clock because of its simple design and not to ever have to worry about the correct time again. It works and receives the U.S signal up in Toronto. It does automatically switch to daylight saving time twice a year which is great. However that requires the (one time) switch of a button on the back of the clock, No major inconvenience but something one needs to be aware of.
