Well we are in a real cold snap and I have my heater set to 50 degrees and in a month of running my bill went up approx. $50.

Do you suggest an unfused disconnect close to it, besides the required breaker. Up in the air with that one

I ran a 10gage 30A 240V line from my panel to a 3 prong twist lock socket in a box. I put a plug on a 10 gage 3 conductor cable and wired the cable into the heater. Done. Just unplug it to disconnect.
