Fantastic Product!
We have been plagued for years by a giant grackle community that has used our yard, pool and decking as their personal restroom, not to mention constant racket from their annoyance when we dared to use our yard. Unfortunately, we didn't know about this device prior to nesting season, but next year there will be NO grackles. Expensive, yes. But when you add up all the other deterrent devices that don't work, you should just bite the bullet and buy the BirdXPeller Pro. The first time we used it with the sample programming in the instructions, the grackles went berserk. I counted at least 2 dozen birds darting around trying to figure out where the bird calls were coming from. By the next day, the only remaining grackles were the nesting mothers. We estimated that the babies were about a week away from flying, so we used the BirdXPeller Pro every day until they left. I called the manufacturer to get more optimized information for our particular situation and they couldn't have been more helpful. Clearly, they know what they're doing at Bird-X. They gave me detailed recommendations for next spring so that I can prevent these disgusting birds from returning to my arborvitae hedges. I couldn't be more delighted and have not seen one single grackle in the last week. One final power wash to clean my decking, extra shock in the pool and BYE BYE forever filthy vermin! The device is fairly easy to use. I found the dipswitches a bit challenging to set only because they're very small and I ended up using a tiny flat screwdriver to adjust them. The clear plastic cover to the controls is a little hard to open and the weatherstripping tends to fall out, but those are the only minor inconveniences I noticed. Boy is this device ever loud! My neighbors were forewarned and had no problem with it. They like the idea of having clean cars as these birds must do nothing but fly, squawk and poop. How do such small creatures make such a huge mess? I bought this device based on reading the reviews and wanted to add my recommendation. It’s worth every cent.

Didn't keep the grackles away
As it says in the instructions, if you keep the device dry, it works. I mounted this under my pool deck which is covered in outdoor carpet and it stayed dry and worked through the spring. When I say it worked, I mean it sent out the distress calls and made the noises it said it would. Despite coupling this machine with a fake owl that was moved on a regular basis, a kite that looks like a hawk, a fake alligator, etc., the grackles still nested in the arborvitae trees and have made a mess of my pool. Needless to say I am very disappointed in this product and find it to be a waste of money considering the price tag.

Outstanding Product... Ended an 8-Year Grackle Battle in 24 Hours
This device took care of the problem in 24 hours... unbelievable. I’ve had an 8-year battle in April-May each year with grackle colonies that drop hundreds of fecal sacs into my pool, around my pool, and on my green sport court. In the past, I ran nylon cord lines and hung reflective owls and scare tape. This helped, but I couldn’t hang these lines high enough to fully deter the grackles from dropping their fecal sacs on my property. The BirdXPeller removed 99.9% of the poop-dropping activity within 24 hours. I’m absolutely amazed by this device and would highly recommend it. Here’s the formula that worked for me: - placed the device close to the problem area (I have a one acre lot) and connected it to a timer to operate 6a until 930p... I like this better than the Day/Night setting built into the device so I can have it emitting sounds just before the suns come up, and slightly after it sets - I used 2 sounds at a time, rotating between 4 sounds (blackbird distress call, grackle distress call, predator 1 sound, and predator 2 sound) - each afternoon, I would switch up the sounds to keep the birds guessing - each evening, I would move the device to a different area (I used a total of 4 areas) - I also hung some reflective owls (bought on Amazon for $15 / 4 pack) to create some movement and reflection - and I pressure washed my concrete each day for 5 days to remove the fecal sacs.... if you read up on grackles, they are attracted to the scent of their own feces, so daily removal also helps to break their pattern of dropping fecal sacs on your property. It took me an hour the first day due to the number of fecal sacs, and then 5-10 minutes each subsequent day. I’m going to keep this device running another few weeks to ensure no grackles come back to their old habits, but after an 8-year battle and then seeing this device deter the grackles away from my property, I can say with 100% confidence that this is a must-have if you have a grackle problem. On a side note, when I plugged this device in for the first time, I had to run. 50+ grackles swarmed the area around the device the very first time they heard the grackle distress call, and then for the following couple of hours each time it sounded. They lost their minds. After that, they just stayed away from it entirely. But it was obvious that the grackles were reacting directly to this device. Outstanding... could not be happier with this device.

Grackle relief with some caveats to help
I purchased this product about a week ago after my pool and pool deck we’re being used a dropping points for the grackles poop sacks…. Literally 10 to 20 of these a day. And while it worked, there were other things that contributed, since the grackles were already established with babies in a tree that were less than 10 feet from my fence and may be 30 feet from my pool, here are all the things I did and what I found that worked. Firstly this product specifically made for crackles doesn’t even need to be turned up more than 25% to work in my situation, I also didn’t want to drive my neighbors absolutely nuts. But what seemed to really contribute was I put out two plastic owls one plastic falcon and random snakes. And occasionally I have a crow that’s supposed to look dead that I put at the feet of the owl or the falcon only every now and then, I don’t leave it out too long. But another contributing factor was anytime I saw them in the tree I bought an air horn and a whistle and a bell like a dinner bell. The whistle was super loud but seemed to be the less effective of the three things but you could tell it irritated them. So when I go out I always do the whistle, the air horn which is a hand pump, so it never loses charge since you’re using your own physical pressing to make it go. The air horn probably works 25 to 50% of the time if I’m persistent to run them out of the tree. The dinner bell if I’m persistent works 40 to 60% of the time, if I use them both together it’s closer to 75 to 100% of the time I can run them out of the tree. So while I was out I would constantly if I saw them land in the tree I would immediately use those. I also run this device 24 seven even at night, figuring if they felt nervous at night sleeping maybe that would be good maybe they would decide not to nest there again or maybe they would even run away or at least stay away from my side of the area when they drop off their Poo sacks. In my case I said it on predators 1, 2 and 3. I also set it on distressed calls for grackles. For those that don’t know, grackles are a type of bird where their babies poo it comes out in a sack that can be carried away and dropped off elsewhere, often times if it’s dropped in the pool, it doesn’t fall apart and I can use my skimmer to skim it out but still the damage has been done you know that it’s dangerous and toxic. I have a covered deck which is where I keep the device running 24 seven. I also bought a highpowered light laser, some people reported success of running birds away with lasers that they think is a physical object, it never work not even once for me. It hasn’t come yet but I also bought one of those falcon kites with a pole that I’m gonna put on the side where it’s nearest to where the birds are nesting and let that fly around in the wind, anything that just makes them second guess or nervous make them less likely to nest there and while this season is basically almost done, I’ll be ready for next year next spring to put all the stuff out before they even nest.

Don't bother.
It worked for a moment. A few grackle though didn't care. And then a day after I couldn't return it, it quit working all together! No more sound at all!

Loud but works (Somewhat)
I have a small orchard on the side of my house with a peach tree, that constantly got designated by birds eating the fruit before I could get any. I bought this as recommended by my neighbor down the street who had the same issue with his massive fig tree. I was both semi pleased and disappointed with the result. Even using other detergents as recommended in instructions, like shiny CD’s flapping on strings hanging from branches, and changing out the bird types periodically, we still lost fruit. Not as much loss as before, but we almost lost neighbors because of the loud screeching birds of prey sounds coming from this unit. You can adjust volume and timing, but when it comes on it can be quite a surprise.

Exceeds Expectations!
The Bird-XPeller Pro Electronic Bird Preventer is extraordinary! It worked well beyond my expectations. We have a wonderful multi-trunk tree in the backyard that attracts lots of birds at dusk and through the night. They leave bird droppings on the bark, branches, rocks, bushes, brick pavers, and furniture below the tree. The mess needed to be cleaned almost daily. I bought the Bird-XPeller hoping it would help. The instructions said it could take month to work. After the first night, there was no more mess. The birds stayed away. I kept it running all day every day for a few weeks, then shifted it to only run at night per the instructions. I changed up the calls last week, again per the instructions. 6 weeks later and it continues to work wonders. Well worth the investment! Thank you for your fantastic product!
