3M Paint and Rust Stripper, 03171, 4 in

I have used these for many years to clean rust on Winnebago windshield frames. They work very well and as I buy them 12 at a time I guess I am pleased with the quality.

3M always has great products. Same with this. Used to strip paint on car before refinishing.

The steel header above my garage door was showing signs of rust and had peeling paint. Many wire wheels are made for angle grinders, but I don't own an angle grinder. Luckily, this wire wheel works with cordless drills and did a nice job of removing rust and paint in problem areas. My only complaint and reason for 4 stars is the durability as the wheel was essentially gone when I finished the garage for header. I then coated the header in a primer made for rusty metal. Good value for the money. Also, wear a mask and a face shield when using this as debris will fly everywhere.

So I actually bought this to remove the rust and last years seasoning on my flattop. Put it in my drill and went to work! It made it super easy to take everything off and bring the cast iron back to life! You only get one use out of it for what I used it for but for the ease and time it’s well worth the money! I’ll be looking to get another I’m sure in the spring to do that same thing!!

It has a shaft for your power drill, to make it a quicker job. Funny thing is that Amazon shipped it in an envelope, yep, and the shaft tore through the paper envelope. But I did get it in good condition. Even the Amazon driver shook his head. UPDATE WOW !!! THIS THING REALLY WORKS WELL.

What can I say except that it does exactly what 3M claims it does. I'm using it as a make-do bench grinder using an old heavy-duty Black and Decker drill clamped in a vise, and I've only used it to remove rust from some old spring clamps, but it worked like a champ. My impression is that it's quite durable and should last a good while, especially if you don't jam the edge of a workpiece up against it and are otherwise careful about the direction of rotation. A bonus for me is that it's only 5/8: thick, which makes it easy to get into narrow spaces that a bench grinder can't, and you can approach it from almost any angle for even more versatility.

This is my go-to for stripping paint and rust for auto body work.

Aunque es marca 3M, me parece un disco muy rigido, ademas produce rayones grandes en el material, si quita el oxido pero los rayones que hace perjudican el acabado.
